    Why was it stopped?

Listen im a big fan of both, but my stream cut out after the towl was thrown in, i then refreshed to see the interviewer asking why he threw the towl in?...he didnt want to answer and was acting weird and turned his back???

From my memory...Brook got caught with a jab, golovkin then threw 6-7 wild shots missing practically all of them and brook throws his arms out to say ' come on then is that all you got '

then ingle throws the towl in?

    wat?

' he was gonna get KO'd anyway'

    what?

is that what we should accept? i mean i dont wanna see brook get put to sleep but why should we accept 'what if's' and ' probobly ' who the **** knows what would of happened?

Im guessing the reason is the eye injury??

But Brook is the man with the injury right? so he knows whether he wants to fight on or not.....right?

So WHY did Brook seem A) not hurt B) riding most of the shot's and seemingly want to continue

all im saying is, if the man want's to continue LET HIM ***IN CONTINUE

i was hoping the reff would throw the towl out tbh

btw i expect all the responses to be ' yeh but he was jus saving kell innit '

Im a huge boxing fan, im a fan of both men...but i was enjoying the fight so much i wanted it to conintue, i havent shouted at the tv like that in a long time.

    great great fight.

Because Brook isn't a MW and he's already gained peoples respect by fighting GGG. There is absolutely no reason for Brook to go out on his shield. They took this fight for the money. What good is the money if you can't spend it?

His right eye was badly damaged and he was just getting the will beat right out of him, GGG took a war to Brook and Brook couldn't keep up with it.

If his eye really is fxcked orbital damage etc I can't really blame him getting tagged there with such a hard puncher it's not good.

Tldr.. He told them his eye was ***ed, he started getting battered so they saved him before he got the margarito cyclops look

Good fight, I agree. But Golovkin was all over Brook in round 5. Brook said in the interview that he broke his orbital eye socket, from a punch he received in round 2. In round 5, Golovkin was going exclusively to headshots, predominantly on the swollen side of the face, the side Brook kept tapping.

I could tell from the swelling, even as an observer, that his eye was getting ****ed - in round 4 you could see nothing but red and brown iris in his right eye. Anyway, Brooks face is getting hammered and for the last 10 or 15 seconds he isn't even trying to fight back or defend. In another 20 or 30 seconds, Golovkin would've dropped him, we all know he has the power and killer instinct.

Combined with his broken eye socket, I think his camp were probably trying to protect him, make sure he gets nothing permanent or career ending like blindness or lose the eye. You've also got to keep in mind the boxers are also often too proud to quit until they're taken out on the stretcher. His camp calling it also lets him save face.

It was a competitive fight, until that round. I had it 2 - 2, but that round I was giving to Golovkin and expected it to be 10 - 8 in his favour the way it was going. But the risk of life changing or career ending injury is too great. I think it was a good stoppage, ultimately.

Brook (a non-middleweight) appeared to have suffered a broken cheek / eye socket after just 4 rounds. He said he saw 4 Golovkin's in the ring. His trainer, who has known Brook since he was a kid, had every right to protect his fighter from severe and unnecessary damage.

when was he getting 'battered'? out of the final 10 punches golovkin landed 1 of them, brook was riding with the shots

If his eye was so ****ed, why didnt the reff call for the doctor, why didnt he ask brook if he wanted to continue?

brook was BACKING GOLOVKIN UP FFS.

Would he of got knocked out later? maybe, maybe not. to say you know what would of happened, is not acceptable to me.

Brook is fighting, he knows if he can continue, is it so bad TO ASK HIM IF HE WANTS TO CONTINUE??

              The Stoppage was BS.

To say it's a good stoppage is BS, not a fact and is your opinion.

It was a great stoppage by a considerate corner.

Golovkin's power is the one of the most known quan****** in boxing and he'd already essentially succeeded in breaking Kell's face. I reckon Kell could possibly have muddled his way through another round or so but his offence was gone in that round.

If I weigh 160lbs and fight a 160lber no matter how small I am I am regarded as a middleweight also after Kell Brook likely rehydrated from the weighin he was probably at 170lbs maybe a bit more he was either equal in weight or heavier than GGG.
Dunno how you work things out but that is equal in weight and both made the middleweight limit on the weigh in.

The ref didn't know how bad it was.. Kell knew cause it hurt like hell.. He told his corner he saw 5 of him.

They obv did ask him if he wanted to continue.. That's why he went into the 5th then his team saw enough

You're acting like the ref just stopped it. His trainer was looking out for his health vs an obvious bigger man
