Canelo needs GGG for damage control. Its better for Canelo's career to get KOed by GGG, and go back down to 155 then to be seen as the mexican coward forever. Mexicans wont back that ****, and mexicans are buying his PPV's...

with 97k (or 150k, whichever is correct) PPV buys..... total ?

    I doubt that very much.

that Canelo exposure is exactly what he needs, but he will NEVER land that fight

Golovkin wants Canelo to make him a star, and to make him rich, all at the same time

that fight will never happen, and not convinced it should happen if Golovkin is not willing to be reasonable

This is the problem with GGG. He has no leverage against Canelo but thinks he should be paid more than he's worth. What has GGG done to get more than a 20% PPV split or a flat rate of $5 million? Either would be career highs for him. HBO won't even put him on PPV after last years flop and his own promoter is making him travel to the U.K. to fight a welterweight in his own backyard. Been saying it for years this fight only happens on Canelo's terms.

That's why Floyd accepted 20% of the purse and let De La Hoya have 80%.
Canelo is nowhere near popularity Oscar had. The whole narration that GGG needs Canelo to become a superstar of boxing is just a mental concept that can be far from reality. GGG needs Canelo for money, not for glory.
The moment of truth for Canelo will come in September.
His PPV will fail badly and the myth of him as a huge PPV draw will be busted.

I don't think that fight will ever happen, in fact I highly doubt it.....

..... many will blame Canelo, but that will not affect his career at all.

When Canelo moves to 160, Team Golovkin will demand too much money..... preferring to rely on public pressure to force Canelo's hand, rather than negotiating with him in good faith..... just like they did on the weight.

I don't give him a pass on money. Fighters take pay cuts and make weight sacrifices all the time for their moment.

You beat Canelo, then you become the money man.
            Facts.......

You're right but can't be a humiliating offer. Floyd got 30%+ including the 10m guarantee, that's more than decent money. What if Oscar had offered him 3m fixed?
