If Canelo beats an old GGG years from now, should he get credit?

He'll get credit for beating GGG, if that ever happens, but he wouldn't get as much credit down the road as he would right now. Calling GGG into the ring only to hand him the title days later will always haunt Canelo. People wont soon forget the "we dont fuŠk around in Mexico" comment.

      People have short memories..

Chavez Sr dumped the WBA belt he won off Taylor rather than fight Rapheal Pineada...nobody remembers that bi.tch move.

Depends on what they do in those years.

So far GGG has done nothing.

It's kind of a vague question. I voted yes he will get some credit for beating GGG. Of course any knowledgeable fan will be aware that he beat a well past prime GGG and remember that he refused to fight him in mid 2016.Even beating a well past prime GGG will still be a great victory. Look at the Fury vs Wlad fight. At 41 years old there is no way in hell Wlad isn't way past prime. Yet Fury is still getting lots of credit for beating Wlad when all others failed to beat Wlad.

He will forever be remembered as a coward. No matter if he fights him next year. FIRST MEXICAN in history to drop a belt to avoid his mandatory. LOL that **** will stay for him for the rest of his life.

I am from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Same hometown. All of us here at the village have the same opinion. We are embarrassed of that clown. If he comes here for an appearance, he is getting jumped, period.

According to GGG's nuthugger, he's the GOAT of middleweight. so Yeah, Cinnamon should get all the credit of the world.
