1-Bernard Hopkins - He is the man.
2-Floyd Mayweather - He could be the man, if takes a meaningful fight before the year is up.
3-Erik Morales - He could be the man if he beats Barrera decisively in November.
4-Manny Pacquaio - He could also be the man, if he rematches Marquez and beats him decisively or takes some other meaningful fight.
5-Antonio Tarver - If he got off his ass and took a fight Glenn Johnson, he could be the man.
6-Diego Corrales - If he gets another meaningful fight by Year's end, he could be the man.
7-Winky Wright - If he beats Shane Mosely again and scored wins over someone of Ouma's calibre......he could be the man.
8-James Toney - If he got more active and beat a top heavyweight......he could be the man.
9-Rafael Marquez - IF he unifies or scores some other good wins, he could be the man.....if the man or other fighters who could be the man slip up somehow.
10-Jose Luis Castillo - see above.

    Missing the cut-
Felix Trinidad - He is back. but not on the list yet.

Kassim Ouma - He has beaten every credible 154 lber out there.....except Wright or Mosely. Therin lies the reason he is not on the list.
I see that both De la Hoya and Tzyu are off of the list, top ten and below. Uhm, okay. You have Toney and Castillo in the exclusive club instead? Well...Toney has had one recent fight, book-ended by injuries, and the quality of his opposition immediately before the first injury was a way-past-his-prime Holyfield and one other forgettable guy? Castillo? He doesn't deserve being under-rated the way he is by many. In my book, he's top 20. And so, I think, is Ouma. That much can be conceded at this time.
I went for Tzyu in spite of his relative inactivity because of what he's shown every time he's active. That one gets the feeling every time Tzyu fights that he's a disaster waiting to happen, is, to me, a testament to the depth of the division he's in than a knock on his talent. And Oscar, I evaluted not as a middleweight but as a jr. middle, a division that's also talent rich (and yes, largely because of the drawing power of the Golden Boy, cash rich! ) Sorry to disagree, pal!

Hey Buddy! How's it going?! Good list! But I see you don't have Kotsya and Oscar in the top ten either? You had Cory and JMM instead! Oh, well, I must confess, it was a tough call for me re Tsyu and Spinks, although I put the transplated Russian way up in the ladder and Spinks as just outside the magic circle. True,Tzyu's inactivity argues volumes against him. To my mind, that makes him either high up there or nowhere.

With Oscar: would you say I was blinded by the glitz and sheen of the Golden Boy? LOL!!! Could be you're right, you know! LOL!!!

I just couldn't get it up for JMM, however. The guys he fought were the Medinas and Gainers of this world. The only redeeming gem in his career, to me, is that draw with the Pacman. I'd rather much go for Castillo if Oscar is dropped. Although I erred in not putting Castillo in my up-and-comer list. Just plainly forgot! Miguel Cotto too!!! Forgive an old fella?!!! That PRican is something to watch!!!

It's been a great weekend of boxing there buddy! We were all entertained, the blood thirsty fans that we are hahahaha LOL
Oscar in my opinion was P4P 2 weight classes ago, right now...well, i dunno...he got a controversial win over Sturm and was finally executed by B Hop. He would give a more competitive fight against Tito though IMO and I won't be surprised if he wins a tight decision in the rematch.
JMMarquez i think proved his worth against that wrecking machine last May. It still puzzles me that he hasn't fought Morales and Barrera. I really think that his style is perfect for Morales though a fight with Barrera could prove to be boring (unless MAB opts to fight). Of course, we may never know
Man, i'm really impressed with JL Castillo and Cotto they will rock the top 10 list. I hope Castillo-Corrales materializes, great fight, what do you think?

If JMM proves his mettle vs. Morales, then, I guess I'll be at the front row of those bowing down before him and chorusing, "We are not worthy!!!" LOL!!! I'm just as surprised as you are why there's narry a serious whisper about Morales-Marquez! They don't have much time, both of them! It's not as if they are at the age of that fella that the engineer in you dubbed as a "wrecking machine": Pacman!!!LOL!!!!
Cotto and Castillo leave me speechless!!! I bet, early next year or at the latest, mid-year of next, they'll have those boxing scribes scrambling to re-order their P4P lists!!! I'm adding a prayer to your hope re Castillo-Corrales!!! I can see that it has great possibilities of making any other FOY nominees a good run!!!

Re: Oscar-- I guess the name got the better part of my judgement! LOL!!! Yes, the present Oscar pales in comparison to the Oscar two weight classes ago.

Good to hear from you again, pal!!!

Addendum: Didn't get to see last weekend's fights!!! Damn!!! Had to stay out late for several days, TCBizniz. Damn bills to pay!!! But I'll get to watch it on VCR; a friend of mine is lending me a tape. I'll do that this wkend... unless...!

JMMarquez-Morales may never happen, El Terrible says that after his trilogy with Barrera he's going after "that wrecking machine" Pacquiao LOL ...then he's going up at lightweight.

Castillo-Corrales is a possible FOY candidate indeed, there will be fireworks flying in this sure slugfest...hope it's gonna happen soon perhaps on the 4th of December as orginally planned.

You've been busy buddy! It's good to hear from you too.

Oh well, Morales knows where his bread is buttered. A Marquez match wouldn't get him going as it won't draw much save true-blue boxing buffs. If Morales is bent on making Mexican pugilistic history by going up to lightweight after Barrera III and Pacman, who can knock that decision? But if he loses to Pacquiao, he won't draw as much at lightweight, either. Could be that a Marquez meeting would make his eyes twinkle! Marquez after all is the only guy who held pacman to a draw at featherweight. A Morales who had lost to Pacquiao going up against Marquez who held Pacman to a draw will be easy to hype!Stranger things have happened in boxing.

Yeah, December 4, so I likewise heard! Praying nothing gets in the way! FIREWORKS, IT WILL BE!!!

                THANKS BUDDY!!! Catchya...!!!

Strange things happens in boxing indeed. Now that scenario would definitely be an attractive hype (Morales-Marquez). Upsets does happens.
