Comments Thread For: Canelo's Manager Reacts To Trash Talk From Golovkin's Coach

Jose 'Chepo' Reynoso, manager of former two-division world champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs), is brushing off the verbal barbs from Abel Sanchez - the head trainer of IBO, WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

"Time puts everyone in their place". Ultimately, I think that's what it'll come down to with these two. However, time is not on Golovkin's side so he needs to start getting proactive with his career and not let himself get signed up for these ridiculous fights. That is, if he's concerned about legacy. If not, fair enough.
Canelo is doing the same stuff but he's got far more time to mess around.

I could see this fight taking place when Golovkin is 40

Yep. I just think GGG is way too fixated on getting all the MW belts before he moves up. He's already avoided. That in itself means he's accomplished all he can at that weight. His legacy won't change with one more belt. Now, if he's just skeered to move up, that's another story. Which could be the real reason. IMO his aura gets smashed once he starts in with legit SMWs and LHWs.

Canelo's stock has plummeted greatly over the last year or so. If it keeps going at this rate for much longer he will lose his spot as the top financial draw in the sport without even a fight. He has gone from being on another planet to GGG two years ago, to massively bigger than GGG last year to well ... what? A small bit bigger than GGG now I guess. I wonder which fight will bring in more money worldwide Canelo v Smith or GGG v Brook.

Say what you want about Alvarez dropping the belt...Reynoso couldn't have made a truer statement. Soon it will be time for GBP, Alvarez, Sanchez, and GGG to all cash the checks they have been writing with their mouths. All the belts? Then what? September 2017? 168? Sooner or later all the rhetoric and excuses used to keep the fan base happy will have to be met with actions.

the only action is to steal the fans money. thats why the is in fight in texas. in vegas they" GOLDEN BOY " couldn't afford to see alvarez boooooo'd by the fans because its easy to hurt his feelings.

Boxing failed big this year. Only one fight to look forward to Ward vs Kovalev, two real champs

Maybe we even get Pacquiao vs Crawford if TC wins

                  Thurman-Porter was good

                  Cruz-Frampton may be good

Mikey-Rojas can tell us where Mikey is against a solid guy
