Middleweight division sucks, that's just a fact of life

Saying that Golovkin fights in a poor division is just a reality of life.

This has nothing to do with hate or bias.

Him staying there trying to collect the belts and beat Hopkin's records robs us as fans of good fights.

If Golovkin wants to include his name in the record books, good for him, but his career will be ****.

No way! Murrary, Lemieux, Rosado, Rubio, Wade are the Roy Jones Haggler, Ray Robinson, and Tommy Hearns of our day. I know because Golovkin fans constantly remind me of how good MW is right now. The problem is that Golovkin is so far above those guys that he makes these modern masters look like bums.

Sarcasm aside, the middleweight division is a joke. Even the top middleweights who ducked Golovkin recently are just glorified undercard fighters-- Quillin, Sturm, Jacobs and Saunders. And don't try and tell me they didn't duck him either, its so obvious they didn't want the fight, or at least their management didn't.

This is why Golovkin is wasting his time at MW. He should have moved up to 168 to have a fight or two then fought Ward when he returned. Golovkin's career has been poorly managed. His slave contract with HBO doesn't help either, but that would've been moot in making a fight with Ward.

BHop didn't miss many bums on his way to Trinidad and fame as well.

When was it strong though? It was weak in the 90s, it was weak when Sergio was on top and it's still weak.

Fighters follow the money. When Canelo moves up, you will see the 154 fighters take notice and move up to chase the megafight.

it only sucks because they don't fight each other. if they did then the cream would rise to the top and you'd find that there's not actually a deficit of talent in the division. divisional strength is all about perception

Golovkin aside, a lot of the ranked MW are of similar quality i feel. If they faced each other the division would be decent. For various reasons though, the aren't facing each other.

Jacobs, BJS, Lemieux, Eubank. There's good fights to be made there.

The reality is Loeffler could've gave Saunders 3million. Just take it to the UK. Win the WBO. finish 160, and move up while the years are "young."

They don't want to move up because their excuse is defend 160 and for the hopes of the Alvarez bout. Alvarez is 25. He has no rush to 168 for another couple years at best.
