After Pirog destroyed Jacobs, GGG signed to fight Pirog. How wasn't that a risk?

Anyone who says Golovkin isn't willing to take risks is either hating or has no idea how 95% of his career has unfolded. Avoiding Ward before and fighting Brook now does not change that Golovkin has tried many, many times to get good fighters in the ring and they have avoided him. He is fighting Brook after much better fights were made impossible. He's one of the most avoided fighters in the sport.
We can be objective and both criticize Golovkin for this awful fight while also recognizing that he has been screwed over a lot.

Someone's father died.
After the Lee fight was canceled and he came back from the mourning period, he almost landed a Chavez fight at 168. Top Rank screwed that up, if I recall correctly.

Anyone undefeated & dominate like GGG gets upped to the god level for expectations & get criticized & scrutinized in ways non-exceptional boxers never would. This happens to most guys who had a nice streak of dominance & that ***y undefeated record, Tyson, Mayweather, Trinidad, RJJ, etc & so on. Now thats on GGG too. Its a pretty basic thing in boxing historically since records have been as important are they are today anyway.
