He's just not available but he could be after Brook if they still can't get what they want at middleweight. They are now in a position that after Brook, they need a big test, whether that's at middleweight or super middleweight and DeGale would be one of the biggest tests possible.
Oh yeah no doubt, he's top 3 at SMw so I hope Ggg fights him before long. I'm saying, Hearn can't offer the Eubanks deal to a guy he couldn't sell on Uk Ppv in 2 months. We're talking serious money, Brook and Vargas were gonna get less combined than the Eubank purse.

There's a lot of cognitive dissonance going on in this thread. Either Hearn and Loeffler are evil geniuses who have manipulated both Vargas and Eubank while getting career high purses for their fighters or they're incompetent idiots whose matchups have wasted the prime years of their boxers. It's one or the other. It can't be both.

Is this not you wanted for the sport? Because whether Golovkin, Mayweather, Alvarez or whoever this is the price you pay when you refuse to impartially hold all boxers to the same standards. This is where that whole "A-side", "business sense" nonsense has led and if you've ever used those words to justify the actions of a boxer outside of the ring then this is what you wanted and you have no right to complain.

Also, artwork? A 10 year old could knock that up in 10 minutes using Paint.

I think everyone was surprised when Canelo dropped the belt. But yeah, it would be nice to have a back up and that was probably Eubank if not Saunders.

How do you know they didn't discuss DeGale? He has a fight against Jack in November, I'm sure he came up. We don't know what else k2 tried , all we know is Eubank didn't sign, Hearn offered Brook and they took that. There could have been other opponents they looked at, we don't know any of that information.
Abel , Tom , GGG are a team each with their respective roles Abel to train & talk sh.it , Tom to get the business side done and Gennady to beat people down and continue the hype that he built . I'd like to believe that they all communicateand all have a agreed upon plan with what to with with Gennadys career. If Abels saying we had a feeling that he'd drop the belt I'd assume Tom probably had a idea too that Canelo would drop the belt. I think most boxing media and fans also thought this was a possibilty that the fight wasn't happenin in Sept 2016.

I don't know Shi.t if Degeale was in the conversation or not. But supposedly it all happend in 1 day ( which is BS )so it doesn't appear that thought was given.

Stevenson has repeatedly priced himself out vs all relevant guys in his division. Ggg just had the 4 most relevant MWs duck him quite brazenly
Degeales last 3 fights have been in North America because he's signed to Haymon, The Jack fights happening in London from the interviews I've seen.
You may be right about the popularity and how'd effect it but how can Degeale / GGg not be PPV in the UK.

Stevenson & GGG may have different reasons, But from the top of my head they're the only notable names I can think of that haven't taken any real risks in over 3 - 4 years.

I don't think Tom and Abel communicate closely. Abel's job is to train and that's it.

I honestly believe K2 thought the Canelo fight would happen. They made an agreement to have an extension and it made sense. It was pretty surprising to see a big star like Canelo willingly hand over his title like that, I doubt they anticipated it would go down like that. Regardless, in a perfect world they should have had a back up plan. That's easier said than done when the best middleweights after Canelo are Saunders, Jacobs and Eubank. They probably figured Saunders would likely turn them down since he did already but Eubank had been talking about Golovkin for sime time and Loeffler has been talking with Hearn for over a year. That was a backup plan. Didn't play out unfortunately. They should have had a back up to the back up.

It is what it is. They settled for Brook so now the pressure is really on k2 to make a significant fight immediately after. They can't **** around or the backlash will be even worse.

Yeah that was likely an exaggeration by Hearn since Loeffler said 48 hours if I'm not mistaken. Whatever the case, it wouldn't take long at all to ask about DeGale and find out of he has a fight scheduled or not and if there is anyways to get him as an opponent.
