Today's question is, throughout boxing history, has there ever been a bigger underachiever than Gennady Golovkin..... ?

According to the dictionary, an underachiever is a person who fails to live up to his potential or does not do as well as expected.

Golovkin was hyped/marketed as this wonder-guy, who could "beat anyone from 154-168"..... according to K2, Sanchez, and Golovkin himself, Gennady is capable of ruling 3 divisions..... and yet in reality, when presented with the opportunity to back up those wild claims, he immediately killed TWO huge fights over the weight, completely contradicting his mantra.

    * Golovkin has done the EXACT OPPOSITE to what was promised by him and his team, despite having numerous opportunities

    * Despite being 35yo he is yet to face a genuine world-class opponent

    * Despite being compared to Hopkins, Golovkin has avoided every possible potential world-class opponent

    * Despite stating that he can beat everyone over a 3-division range, Golovkin never attempted to fight outside middleweight, and he avoided TWO huge fights both at 154 and 168

Name 1 fighter throughout history, who promised more, and yet delivered less, than Gennady Golovkin.

e.g. despite having his boxing career significantly shortened due to a tragic motorcycle accident, Paul Williams did significantly more that Golovkin promised to do, by fighting in multiple divisions and beating a number of opponents who were MUCH BETTER than anyone on Golovkin's resume'.

Let's face it, a cripple outshone Gennady Golovkin in terms of genuine achievement.

Julio Caesar Chavez. You didn't like that one?

    How about Mike Tyson?

Also, gotta admire your tenaciousness to defend your trolling. I mean, you're so TROLL that you don't even acknowledge that no one wants to step up to GGG right now...down the line, yes...right now, no. Cotto paid step-aside fees, then refused to pay any belts fees to acquire the mandatory shot at GGG...Canelo vacated then ran down to the 154 division...Saunders priced himself out of the fight & demanded it in his own backyard...Jacobs said 1 and a half years from now...Lara acts like he wants the fight but refuses to let his own manager in on the joke...Ward signed an HBO contract to move up another division away from GGG. Who else? Zurdo said he'd be ready in 2017. Andrade is pursuing 154 belts. DeGale said he'd fight him only at 168 but not right now. But yea, you should totally keep believing your trolling hype. You need to continue being the hype man as a good troll should be...

I'm with you bud. And did you notice that DLH & GBP promotions are saying September of 2017...they're not even choosing Cinco de Mayo for this mega fight! Am I the only one who finds that curious?

**** off Oscar. Alvarez is consistently bigger than Golovkin both at 30 day weigh-in and on fight night. This is just pathetic the way he's trying to excuse such a blatant duck.

I guess you could say that DLH is having Canelo hit that path to stardom at "ludicrous speed."

The best p4p of what? What has he accomplished? Not trying to be a prick but his resume is slim. And when I say slim, I mean none.

Well... Alvarez said what he said. I don't think he's a coward. He's proven as much by taking fights with Lara, Trout, Cotto... He misinterpreted his game-plan v Mayweather and squandered the opportunity. Alvarez is not a coward, but I do think he is over-rated.

I'm not in a position to say that anyone that steps into a ring, literally putting their lives on the line is lesser than I. I would be pretentious and disingenuous to think otherwise, but I do believe that not all boxers/fighters are in complete control of their destinies.

Alvarez' promoters are not in a position to control every word and gesture Alvarez makes/takes. At the same time, Alvarez is not in a position to mandate every decision his own promotional team make/take.

It appears that Alvarez is a prisoner to his own success. He looks groomed to take the role as the "next big boxing icon" but cannot dictate his own destiny unequivocally.

From my humble perspective, the perception is that he can decide what he wants with low physical risk opponents. Factor in an opponent that can cause real damage and he has no say, regardless of whether or not he wants to take the challenge.

Keep in mind, I'm not stating fact. This is my boxing-fan perspective speaking here.

GGG's career isn't over yet...so that's a question of implementation. Mike Tyson basically wasted his career away with his bad behaviors (prison, partying, fornication, etc.)...how is that not underachieving??? GGG might have another decade to go. Yet I'm sure everyone gets a kick out of your hypotheticals in your attempt to discredit GGG in every shape or form. No one knows where you'll take your hate. But I know one thing: you'll never fail on being the hype man. You do that trolling you do so well to help hype GGG. Keep on posting on every article related to GGG. I think you can do it.
