now yeh but there's a lot of them on all-time lists

i kind of wonder as we work our way down; til the only place consistently producing boxers anymore is zimbabwe or something, how it's going to affect the overall talent pool

one by one these demographics are promoted socioeconomically and move to less abusive violent sports/careers

Exactly, and guess what sport is next to see the exact same trend except for within American context, AMERICAN FOOTBALL will soon have the boxing effect where mainly low low income players participate

            1: Jerry Quarry
            2: Kelly Pavlik
            3: Tommy Morrison
            4: Gene Tunney
            5: Joe Smith Jr.
            6: Chris Algieri
            7: Butterbean

I'm not sure, though. How do you see it? And remember, Mexicans and South Americans and Puerto Ricans, generally anything from south of USA, such as Danny Garcia, doesn't count.

And by the way, let's be mature an keep racism out of this thread, it's just to find interesting information through history.
            1. Harry Greb (1913-1926)
            2. Mickey Walker (1919-1935)
            3. Willie Pep (1940-1966)
            4. Johnny Dundee (1910-1932)
            5. Gene Tunney (1915-1928)
            6. Johnny Kilbane (1907-1923)
            7. Jack Britton (1904-1930)

recent history (last 50 years) is a different conversation.

Arturo Gatti has to be on a long list somewhere and Greg Haugen and Vinnie Pazienza. Not great fighters but very good.

Thank you for god sake, man should not do "best ever" lists if they don't know the sport and his history.

I would be tempted to add La Motta, Basilio, Fullmer, Bob Fitz and Gene Tunney.
