If Canelo and Cotto throw themselves into the 154 division, along with the Charlos, J-Rock, Andrade, Smith, and Lara, I see at least 2 years of great match-ups to be made. This is why I think GGG must accept 155 (or at least call his bluff) to fight Canelo now! I think this talk of Liam Smith is just leverage for the GGG negotiations.

Seeing Liam Smith as a title holder and who he beat for it is a great example of how too many titles ruin the sport. To levitate too many titles being in the sport, sanctioning bodies could fix their rankings by not ranking journeymen and no names in their top 15. But nope, they rank the worst, most unknown fighters of the division in their rankings. Some one who's a top 35 JMW overall, could be in one of these sanctioning bodies top 10

Sounds like Warren's going to have both his WBO champions KO'd in the same month. Might as well do a split-site double header with Golovkin/Saunders in the UK and Alvarez/Smith in the US.

To be fair they do this at ALL weight classes! Look at the ranking for MW. Make sure you have a barf bag by you when you see the cans ranked in the top#5...

Would be very surprised. Warren always does this. Example: a couple of years back, he claimed Chisora would fight Wilder and that the fight was a 'done deal'. He even scheduled a presser.

A few hours later, Team Wilder reported that they had only had limited contact with Warren about the fight, and had not entered into a contract, verbal or written.

Wait and see, I guess. I doubt it happens.

Yup! And I think Thurman/Brook could EASILY make 154 as well.154 lbs is one of the best divisions right now. Maidana as well if he ever wants to fight again!

Sanctioning bodies are the blame for Canelo having a MW title to begin with. How do you beat Cotto for the MW title, in a catch-weight bout, even after Cotto had vacated the belt?

Porter could join them too! I'm waiting to see Erickson Lubin and Tony Harrison step up in competition too!
