If he steps in the ring with GGG he gets everyone's respeck. He has to honor his own word and do it at 160 though.

No he would lose respect for losing to a fighter of ggs caliber. Losing to floyd is one thing lose to gg is another. Different levels

            YES without a doubt.

No shame in stepping up to the plate and losing so long as you gave it your all.

                of course.

canelo has done enough to prove to us that he's not a complete mirage. wins over trout, lara. he's not a "hype job." he's being protected.

that golovkin might beat him isn't what's keeping the fight from happening. they took the fight with floyd knowing damn well that canelo couldn't perform at his best at 152, and that he was seriously lacking in experience and even stylistically. canelo is not a search and destroy mexican fighter. he's a great counterpuncher and he has good offensive boxing craft. just not as good as floyd mayweather.

GBP wants to proetect an asset. that means keeping him away from a puncher and a clinician who is likely to take fights away from your career. i highly doubt that canelo alvarez is meeting with goldenboy and telling them not to make the fight because he's scared.

Of course. Even at 155 because if GGG agrees to the weight, you can't blame Canelo anymore if GGG comes in drained, that would be on him.

If he fights GGG and gets knocked out, at least he fought him and gave the fans the fight they wanted to see. Deserves a ton of respect.

As of right now, he deserves the backlash he's getting for giving up his title and not standing up to his promoters and demanding this fight, like Marquez recommended.

If he took the fight at 160 lbs and he puts up a good fight. If he gets torn to pieces, fights like a bi*tch and gets KO'd he gets no respect. If he fights well but still gets beat he gets my respect.
