i don't usually agree with butterfly when we talk about white heavyweights but hes right on the button
dempsey had more killer instinct than marciano infactthe only boxer who may have had more killer instinct was mike tyson.
marciano fought at a far more measured pace much like frazier this meant he had fewer first round knockouts but he had the highest KO percentage of any heavyweight champ
dempsey is the best (i can't believe the fisrt few pages went without a mention!) marciano is second then you have bonavena quarry gene tunney tommy morrison may deserve a mention too

Gene Tunney was interviewed once and tunney said that when he fought Dempsey, he had the feeling that Dempsey wanted to kill him, and he never felt that way against any other opponent according to Tunney.

Nice. I couldn't have said it better myself, I agree completely.

Here's a picture of Dempsey Sparring with Bill Tate. As you can see, even his facial expression shows that he was a crazed maniac in the ring, and that he had pure killer instinct.

However, Marciano against Roland LaStarza has a serious look, but it doesn't look half as mean as Dempsey's expression.
So as you can see, Dempsey is the more ferocious fighter, since Marciano just wants to knock you out, while Dempsey wants to kill you!
Enough said.
