golovkin wouldn't even get sanctioned to fight most of the guys on lara's resume. he'd probably win every fight by knockout. at the very least, that's surely how vegas would handicap them.

golovkin's not only a middleweight, he's a much, much higher ranked pound for pounder.

still, lara's opponents wouldn't be favored to beat martin murray, matt macklin, dan geale, stevens, lemieux. i doubt lara himself would have been the favorite against murray, lemieux, or even stevens, macklin, or geale.

you can speculate about lara's rank at MW. many of the guys golovkin fought actually earned spots as contenders. lemiuex, macklin, and murray were in the top 5.
In an empty division is my point. I don't mean to discredit GGG, but beating Macklin because he's ranked isn't much of a feat.

I don't get why you're so pissed that the fight is taking this long to materialize having a Pac avi. Pac was a puss for five years scared of Floyd and needles. And Mr. 97K is scared of Ward or any slick black boxer out there.

So I don't see where you get calling people cowards while having that avatar.

Come on man Lara's no scrub at all. Cut it out. He's got arguable wins over Paul Williams and Canelo, beat Trout and Molina. That alone is heavier than Golovkins resume in my honest opinion.

He just dumped his title and fights in his own weight class.

not calling him a bum. i am mostly calling him a JMW, and pointing out that hes looked far from unbeatable there. there's, at the very least, a lot left for him to prove at 154 before he's seen as the guy gennady golovkin has to fight.

his fight with molina was actually a draw, IIRC. he didn't do much at all to separate himself. had him beating williams by a lot, and he was green and showed balls in that fight dealing with that insane swelling. pretty decent win. but williams had been taking bombs in victory and defeat for years at that point. he was coming off of a knockout of the year loss to martinez at MW.

the canelo fight was damn close, and outside of the trout win you have to consider it his most valuable performance in terms of adding to his resume. but it was a loss. you can only call a fight a robbery when it is a robbery, and that fight just wasnt' a robbery.

so you're giving a lot of credit to lara for almost beating the guy who is avoiding golovkin like the plague [canelo.] a win over a significantly faded alfredo angulo. a draw to vanes. a decent win over austin trout. and a win [let's call it a win,] over the guy sergio martinez [who very blatantly ducked golovkin, and who arguably lost to murray, and who went to war with macklin, both of whom golovkin destroyed,] knocked totally unconscious in paul williams.

matt macklin did very well against martinez prior to being stopped.

a lot of people thought martinez got some home cooking against martin murray.

you can have any opinion you'd like, but to say that these are lesser wins than a guy who has literally never fought a contender at middleweight is all wrong.

golovkin has fought decent MWs and outclassed them, beating them up and making his way to any credible p4p list. lara has fought decent JMWs, and in many cases he's blended right in. he fought an elite JMW and he lost. that same elite JMW just dropped a belt to avoid gennady golovkin.

And Pac didn't fight at his own weight classes before?

It took 5 years for him to fight Floyd. And even then that was after he was broke and coming off losses.

97K was willing to fight Chavez, Hopkins and Froch at 168, but Ward at 154? Nope.

Again, why you being a hypocrite? Calling one guy a coward while the two guys on your avatar have a long history of being cowards themselves.

Pac moved up 8 weight classes.

Canelo has been fighting at 155 since his embarrassing loss to Floyd.
