I was thinking the same thing. But the fact that he's saying this on camera, and I get the feeling it won't be refuted, means he's likely telling the truth. I just want to see Kell step it up next.

He could be lying. I am not saying he is lying just that it's quite possible. When I only hear one side of the story I keep an open mind. Spence called out Thurman who is just as dangerous as Brook.

LOL first off I don't believe anything Hearn says in regards to Brook. He treats Brook like a used race car he's trying to sell off at the highest value possible while racing cargo vans. Second in the off chance Hearn is actually telling the truth here its not like Spence waiting 11 months & 2-3 more fights for Brook is a bad move for his long term prospects. Algieri was his first live opponent. It'd be nice to get another 1 or 2 live opponents on your resume prior to fighting for a title. Personally I think Haymon is trying to build up Spence's value, take Spence vs Brook to a purse bid & bring Brook across the pond to fight Spence in the US next spring. That would be my prediction if they don't just go for Garcia or the Thurman vs Porter winner before then which might be the case too.

It makes sense. Haymon is the one running Spence's career. So I can easily see Haymon turning down a fight without even speaking to Spence about it. That's actually pretty common in boxing.

How can they offer Spence the fight when he has been mandated by the IBF for another title eliminator. I know it sounded nice to hear Hearn say otherwise.

I've bashed Hearn and Brook in every thread they appear because of their obsession with Khan. Not in this case. And why would he lie about something that can easily be verified especially in this day and age, by a simple phone call, on social media, facebook, twitter, you name it?

I just talked to Derrick James Spence trainer and he said it's a lie nobody has talked to them.

He's a Haymon prospect, his next 4-5 fights will be wash ups and nobody's.

Look at every prospect Haymon has ever had his hands on. That's how he does things.

Although with PBC about to go belly up, and with Showtime ratings plummiting and now demanding good fights maybe that could change. I doubt it though.
