Whos career will be effected more by an L, Thurman or Porter?

This is a good fight for boxing no doubt but I doubt either guy becomes the face of boxing after this fight (although I could be wrong) but who can you see still having a successful career after a loss when they square off?

If Porter loses, this will be his 2nd loss at the top level. Personally for that reason I think itll set Porters career back further than Thurmans but at the same time if Porter wins in big fashion, the Ora of "One Time" will be gone.

Thoughts? And when I say win (nothing controversial) a clear UD, TKO, or KO win...

Clearly Thurman, he's fighting scared after being tagged by journeymen, imagine how he will be after being stopped.

Don't think it will really matter. Both guys will still have the potential for great fights fans want to see, they are both good fighters.

Yeah I know itll be their 1st or second loss but in this day and age losing that "0" is huge for momentum. Neither guy is a good self promoter. A guy like Broner can take L's and still be viable for some reason but Porter and Thurman dont have that about them...

Clearly Thurman. Porter has already lost and has already faced multiple fighters that are better then anyone Thurman has ever faced. If he loses people will say you see a hype job that has been avoiding tough fights for years and when he finally does have a tough fight he loses.

Thurman. It'll affect him mentally but also his stock will drop. He's barely stepped up and fought anyone as good as Porter and in their prime.

Didnt even look at it from that angle. I see your point. I was just thinking maybe Thurman could go up to 154 after a loss, I dont see Porter (given his height) being able to do so...

Thurman. Porter will still get fights for his lack of power and he's always willing to throw down, he's not a diva. If he seizes another opportunity, he's right back in contention.

Thurman will probably be more difficult to deal with because these guys don't want to fight for less money even after they lose. He has also seemed reluctant to step up, so he'll be seen as a hypejob. Imagine if Haymon wants to throw him in with Spence, to set up Spence for welterwight domination......Thurman would rather retire or ask for one jillion dollars.

                    Had to Green K this.

Porter faced Alexander when he was a belt holder, Kell Brook and Adrien Broner... if he loses he still has reputable wins that he can fall back on that validate him. Thurman doesn't have that Luxury, this is the first opponent that can validate the hype he has received, fall at this hurdle and there's nothing he can fall back on to say he's a credible player in the division.
