Canelo 2 would be a nice fight to see .. Canelo has seasoned up a bit although it would really hurt GGG chances of ever landing s real fight against a real opponent

Fighting GGG for the middleweight title is a winnable fight for Floyd and a win over GGG will do more for his legacy than any other fight he's been in. And as a true fan of Floyd that's what I want out of him. Is it a super dangerous fight for Floyd, absolutely but can he overcome it? Absolutely.
As a true fan of boxing as a whole and a boxing head I want to see fighters doing things that are not expected and take themselves to the ultimate limit.
Floyd has done amazing things so far with his career and will go down in history. But fighting GGG is his Ali-Foreman type fight and a fight that will do more for his career than any other fight he's been in.

I don't think it happens, but if it were to happen I definitely agree with you it'd be in September or May 2017.
Looking at the options here's my take:
*Gennady Golovkin @ 154 - I still question GGG's ability to get to 154, one of the best fight to take for GGG at a lower weight is Canelo at 155 yet he seems opposed to that which suggests to me that it might not be doable despite the "anyone can get it from 154-168" remark from awhile back + I don't think fighting a solid 160lber is in the cards for Floyd
Thurman/Porter winner - this would be a viable option
Pacquiao rematch - I think Manny will be off the table for years & likely forever once he gets elected to the Philippines senate in about a week. It seems like Manny's endgame with his political goals is to be President of the Philippines & being elected to senate makes that a realistic goal to attempt in 2022 or 2028 after a 2nd senate term. Manny will be shifting serious gears outside of the boxing world soon.
Danny Garcia - I have issues believing Danny would even want this fight, Angel & Danny have seemed to be one of the least interested teams on the table for Floyd that rarely mentioned Floyd
Kell Brook - I don't think Brook is even THAT popular in the UK so idk what appeal this would have
Lara @ 154 - this isn't happening just cuz Lara has zero appeal as a Cuban in the US with a unfanfriendly style, although I'd love to see it & I'd favor Lara I think
Only other names that I think would be interesting or could arguably be put on the table is Adrien Broner & Errol Spence & I tend to think Floyd would see it beneath him to fight Broner at his point whos rep isn't the best in or out of the ring & fighting Spence seems like it'd be a too soon type fight for Spence + Floyd seems to have a good relationship with him & wishes to sign him to Mayweather Promotions.
