The Showtime commentators were favoring Jack quite a bit.

How many low blows are you allowed until you start giving hard warnings and deducting points?

If a fighter is allowed to throw below the belt punches, it changes the complexion of the game. Especially in this case since Jack was mostly throwing body punches.

The commentators were clearly favoring Jack. You'd think the kid was on his way to being a star. You can push all you want, that ain't gonna happen. Badou is a solid fighter with good fundamentals, but I find him to be pretty average. I thought Jack was hitting at the belt line (which is legal) most of the time. I think one or two strayed lower. The ref warned him at least once.

Jack was doing some things correct since Bute was having difficulty early on adjusting to what Jack was doing ....

Al Bernstein noted one of the low blows then it appeared he had to stop the commentating on some of the shots that were very similar in nature. Of course not all were low but when you are allowed to not even be concerned about where your punches land, that gives you an unfair advantage.

You're right. We've seen this sort of thing many times: a fighter will continually hit at the belt line and the ref won't warn him to keep his punches up. It shouldn't be left unchecked, although technically it's not illegal.

Bute got started way too late. Of course, it may all have been calculated. It's easy for me to say he should've done this or he should've done that, but fighters aren't machines. Everyone has their limitations. Jack was running out of gas in the last two rounds. I didn't have a horse in this race going into the fight, but it's exciting to watch a fighter come from behind. I wanted to see Lucien pull it off. Majority draw was unjust, in my opinion, but we've all seen a lot worse.
