Comments Thread For: Golden Boy VP: GGG Wants Canelo at 160, Refused Ward at 168!

Eric Gomez, Vice President of Golden Boy Promotions, says IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Genandy 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) is pushing for Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez to face him at the middleweight limit of 160-pounds - but GGG refused to fight Andre Ward at the full super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.

"Team Golovkin is asking Canelo to move up to another weight class to face him"
Then drop the MW title, you fcuking fraud. Then ask for a CW and you'll get it at 157

168 is not his weight class dummy. He's the middleweight champion, not the super middleweight champion.

These mofos are treating 155 as if it is a legit division. If GGG wasn't on the scene, you know very well Alvarez would be fighting at 160 rather than Caneloweight.

How are they asking Canelo to move up to a weight class that he holds a belt in? What weight class is he referring to that canelo is fighting in at the moment?

Team GGG isn't asking to move up to another weight class, because he's mandatory at 160.
GGG didn't fight Ward also because he wasn't mandated to, plus Ward held no belt at 168 at that time. If Ward was GGG mandatory I'm sure that he would have fought him.

Blame Canelo and nobody else if the fight doesn't happen.
