K2 has a good case to move on from Canelo if he refuses to fight. Grab the title and go. If Canelo wants another step aside, it's clear he won't fight GGG at all.

You know DAMN well he has the BEST RESUME of out of ANYONE not named Pac/Floyd the last 3-5 years. Lara was NOT smaller then him. Neither was Trout. Floyd was smaller. Even Khan isn't really smaller them him.

Good so your ok with GGG fighting CAB Drivers then I'll be ok with Canelo fighting the WINNER of Thurman vs. Porter.

Canelo should just avoid GGG and fight Saunders the eASY FIGHT. Canelo should also let GGG fight Jacobs then decide whether to give up the 160lb belt. Canelo is a mexican Superstar with a huge greaseball following of illegals in the USA. GGG has no faN BASE and GGG brings nothing to Canelo but a loss. That was ALMOST 2 years ago saying the winner of the Canelo/Cotto fight will either fight us or vacate. That didn't happen because the GGG camp first allowed Cotto to fight not one but 2 voluntary defenses. Then let Canelo fight a voluntary defense. They talk tough about making fighters get their belt stripped or forcing them to vacate and then flip flop and bend over and agree to allow them to keep the belt and fight someone. They are frauds and don't give a crap about winning another paper vacant belt. They want the big named fight but they foolishly think they are the big name that gets to dictate the terms. Canelo had to agree to Floyd's catchweight and he was a much bigger star then GGG is. Why shouldn't he do the same?

I agree, Golovkin should start to back up his rep.....

..... but, just thinking about the bold..... Golovkin's quest for the WBC title actually started back with Martinez..... I gotta admit, he has been ****ed around a bit.

I could be wrong, but my feeling is this..... rightly or wrongly, Canelo will stand firm on his 155 (or close) demand, Golovkin will HAVE to "give a little" in order to make that fight.

And Team Golovkin, rightly or wrongly, will not "give a little" if they have an easier way out, regardless as to the money/exposure..... because Canelo at 155/156 is too risky, and cutting weight is a b1tch, it would take Gennady out of his comfort zone and put him into Canelo's comfort zone.

And, I can even admit that from a business perspective it would be a good decision. That would give GGG an increase in momentum at 0 risk, and he still gets to offset the Canelo payday with his first defence of his newly acquired WBC title.

But it would suck from a fans perspective.

I have an opinion about the rightly/wrongly of both the 155 demand and Golovkin's possible preference to be elevated, but that is irrelevant.

I can see both sides stalling and Team Golovkin taking the easier path.

But it will most likely come down to two things, the "REAL" possibility/likelihood that the WBC will/won't strip Canelo (and Team Canelo will be well-aware of that imo, they will have communication with the WBC) balanced against Canelo's decision to move up to middleweight or stay at 154..... oops, I mean, 155.
