Comments Thread For: Hearn: Sky Rejected Fury-Klitschko - They See Joshua as The Future

I would've rejected it too. After that first trash fight they don't deserve to be on TV at all. Worst heavyweight title fight ever. Zero highlights from that fight. They looked like two bears fighting. Throwing wide punches and crashing into each other clinching. Joshua is out here knocking people out giving fans what they pay for. Joshua is the future of Heavyweight boxing. Klitschko-Fury reminds us of why most people tuned out the Heavyweight division

So why do you care hearns? On another hand why wouldn't they reject it? They would be ****** to pick up that fight when you can count the number of landed punches from their first fight on one hand.

Martin-Glazkov was more exciting than the Klitschko-Fury fight.

I actually tried looking for a decent highlight reel of the fight... None, zero, zilch, like you said it would like two grisly bears with gloves doing their best elusive type of slick boxing.

Joshua may or may not be the future, but casual fans will pay and tune in to see him knocking out bums, that's all that matters to the money men involved. 90% of the people watching last night don't know or care that Charles Martin is a bum, or whoever he fights next. They're tuning in to see Joshua and watch him knock people out. It generates money.

Klitschko v Fury was an awful fight for the casual fan to watch. For boxing fans it was an intriguing fight, watching Fury negate what Wlad does well etc, but not that exciting. But for the casual fan who doesn't know what they're watching then it must have been absolutely terrible to watch really. It was bad enough for real boxing fans, but it was a bit intriguing anyway.

At the end of the day, if you're going to generate big money then you need the casual fans and people who don't even watch the sport usually putting their hands in their pockets and paying, and Sky know that isn't going to happen for this rematch.

Fury fans called it a masterclass display. Fury's defense puzzled Klitschko. Hands down behind his back, chin out and Wlad clinches. Those feints will be taught in boxing gyms for generations. Better than the shoulder roll.

Hearn chatting out his arse. He's gotten in bed with Adam Smith and seduced the guy into only showcasing Matchroom fighters. This entire year, Sky is showcasing zero top fights, either from the UK or from the US. Their cushy deal with HBO seems dead too.

Sky boxing quality is currently like BET or Spike in the US.

"For me, Martin is a stiff test for Joshua. Make no mistake. Martin is relaxed and slick. He punches accurately. He's tall, he's southpaw and he can box. This guy isn't someone you're going to hit and isn't going to hit back. AJ will be in a serious contest with this guy.-Peter Fury
