but when people bring up that Canelo looked drained at the weigh in and Diego Corrales was a shell of himself and weighed in 2lbs over the limit and then had to squeeze out those 2lbs, Floyd fans cannot and will not agree.

Floyd, whose weight was very stable, yet su****iously required an IV.

Weight classes sound great dont they , until you figure your not much smaller and if you can CW the guy down you have the advantage , why the fck you think he wants all these CWs if it dont mean nothing only suckers believe the level playing field BS the CW is a big handicap , your too big Cotto you must come down , your too quick Juan you must come up , Old Mosley is ok at 147 after he got beat twice , when he KOd Margo Manny would not go near him from 142-147 , then once the CWing guys down in weight was all over Manny starts bring JWs up to WW while he ducks every WW calling him out .

Fck off with your BS buddy , and learn boxing and what these weight clauses really mean to the opponent because Manny is not doing it for fun , an elite fighter with a man made to order resume built of the back of match making , from 140 up its all match making and cherry picking .
Manny moved up from 130 to 147 in about a years time. Yet you are freaking out that the opponent had to drop 1lb from his previous fight with Clottey where he weighed in at 146lbs. Cotto actually said the same thing and laughed about it with the reporters.

They fought the winner of Cotto vs Mosley yet you are complaining . Cotto was a Bob Arum fighter and the bigger draw. Everyone knew what was going to happen yet Reloaded is mad.... just like the good old days. Memories.. .
That is what we call the trifecta.

Or we can go through Manny's career and look at Morales in the second fight at a weight he was no longer comfortable at or Cotto fighting 2 lbs below the WW limit. And so on and so forth. Neither side really has a case to stand on but you idiots will keep arguing about it like it somehow diminishes the opposing fighter in the eyes of his fans. It's all excuses. Both are great fighters and Floyd beat Manny. Move on.

Back in the day, there were only eight divisions, and fewer sanctioning bodies.

I was thinking about this and was going to make a thread on it.

Pacman is more skilled than Floyd imo, especially when you take into account his height and reach, Pac did what he did being shorter of height and reach, he was timing Floyd and making him lunge off balance despite the height and reach disparity.

Floyd and his fans can't accept a little midget is being bad ass slaying bigger guys that's why they accuse him of roiding.

The guy was 5'5 and did some amazing things against taller opponents. Cotto for example. Sure Cotto would have had a better showing if he fought at 147 as opposed to 145, but would he have beaten Pacquiao? Hell No. The weight wasn't the reason he lost, same goes with De La Hoya.
Cotto was already damaged goods when he got in the ring with Pacquaio, The Margarito fight took a lot out of him and I dont think he ever really recovered from that fight, certainly not by the time the Pacquaio fight happened. He still caused Pacquaio all sorts of problems, I think a prime Cotto beats Pacquaio. As for De La Hoya weight was the absolute reason he lost, you could see how bad De La Hoya looked before he even got into the ring. Draining himself so much at his age was always going to cause major problems.

                  Good thread.

People forget that Pacquiao won all his major fights moving UP in weight, against guys who were either taller, better suited to the weight or had a longer reach. And the only guy he couldn't beat in that regard was Mayweather, that too, at the end of Pacquiao's career.

It's absolutely remarkable when you factor in he stopped or badly damaged most of these opponents.

It's why Pacquiao is such a highly ranked ATG.

Nobody ignores how small pac was. That's why he's considered greater than floyd.
