Kovalev has a much different style than Pacquiao. Kovalev is more calculated and patient, also boxing is a big part of his game, his power just overshadows that. But Kovalev is a boxer, not a guy who is going to get into trading and throw fast flurries and leave his chin hanging for right hand counters. I expect a boxing match from Ward and Kovalev, and Ward will be very careful with the counters and try to smother Kovalev's punches inside. It will be a completely different fight than May-Pac.

Minus the footwork and not being southpaw, Kovalev has that killer volume and placing punches the way Manny does. If anything the Manny of now is just as calculated more than his old self. They both put pressure and good finishers.

Ward has the boxing acumen/background/IQ that matches Floyd. Olympians at that. Can nullify or spoil any opponent's style.

Its one of those matches of styles that clash. The classic boxer vs puncher type of super fight. A poor man's version of Floyd vs. Manny.

ward is the better boxer? based on what? he was just outjabbed by barrera. i saw ward jumping in wildly swinging at air because barrera's jab was frustrating him but barrera can't counter at all. what do you think kovalev will do to him? he was able to time hopkins when he tried to jump in so i think you know.

they are both boxers. stop with that crap. one guy just happens to punch people really hard and they fall over. the other guy doesn't. a puncher is a guy like andy lee who can't win rounds that well but can win fights solely on his power.

also this fight is better than floyd vs manny since both guys were super old, but lets stop pretending ward is the only boxer here and kovalev somehow has to knock him out or do something special to win. we did that in floyd-pac and the guy who landed the better punches lost because of it.

You seriously dont think ward is the better boxer and more skillful guy than kovalev? Come on man.Not saying kovalev cant box just saying ward's defense and boxing skills is one of the best in the whole sport
