Ward was a big supermiddle and is pretty sizable at 175!

I think he takes it inside early then switches it up and starts countering Kov late with much harder shots since Kov does seem to show him gaping air late!

Still Kov is a mean SOB and prolly would go out on his shield before he gets on his bike to lose!

      Can't wait!

You guys really think Ward looked good against Brand and Barrera? I thought he looked like absolute **** personally. I'm expecting a UD for Kovalev here or a DQ win for Kov. He's not going to put up with an rough stuff Ward has planned, Kovalev will give him a beating over 12. Ward definitely not at his best here.

Kovalev by KO, Ward is done.

After much thought, I believe this fight is about who can control the distance. Ward will make every effort to do what he's done against other high-level fighters he's faced, which is to be either too close or too far. Though Kovalev is best known for obliterating fighters who stand in front of him, he's also shown the ability to control distance, the showcase being the Hopkins fight in which he didn't let Bernard smother. However, he also stumbled a bit in the Chilemba fight, as Isaac was often able to score inside and elude on the outside.

If Kovalev has an answer to Ward's control of distance, he'll hurt him. Don't expect him to suddenly have an inside game or to be able to pick Ward apart at range like Sergey does to other fighters. These will be quick punches that happen during transitions as Sergey cuts off Ward's footwork. If Kovalev fails to do that, I see Ward frustrating Kovalev and grinding him down throughout the night.

              Kovalev by pain.

Ward can only win with a robbery/controversial decision, headbutts etc.

Not sure if this has been posted before, good Ward interview. Good questions, and good answers, a few weeks ago.

Even if he was mediocre in the ring, I'd still be a huge fan. The guy gives the most intelligent, insightful interviews I've ever seen in boxing. Always gets me to look at things from a new angle.

Interesting about the "who wants to be great" line. We know how hungry Andre is for this. I believe Kovalev wants it but I still haven't seen anything saying, "I cannot wait to get in there with Andre Ward". For the past year it's been, "I will give it my best." Not bashing the Krusher. But, there does seem to be a difference there. Whether it will matter or not we won't know until the 19th.

Funny at what the interviewer hinted to when referencing that Kovalev will not just be able to crush with Andre, but he won't be able to box with him either. I think Kovalev's specialty is that he's a power puncher with skill and adaptability so I don't see him running into a wall as many think he will. But, you never know.

I see kovalev trying everything to knock ward out but getting frustrated that he can't connect clean. He will tire late on and ward will have a chance to stop him on his feet. Ward by late KO or UD.

Ward is an intelligent guy. Very well spoken. He seems extremely confident.
