I think 160 is actually best for Canelo. He's maturing and his body is getting bigger and stronger. I believe he'd have an even better chin, he'd be faster and even punch harder at 160. The weight draining will catch up to him very soon, maybe even in the Khan fight. I recall Canelo getting hurt by Cotto's brother Jose at 150........ Jose Cotto couldn't hurt Canelo with a bazooka at 155 today but he'd ko Canelo if they fought at 150. It's best for Canelo not to find out he's outgrown 155 in a fight. He should fight a couple fights at 160 and then face GGG. I believe Canelo would have the physical advantages then and I'd favor him slightly in a fight.

If the 155lb CW king doesn't wanna play ball, then be a good boy and hand over that belt so that real MWs can fight for it.

Ignoring Abel Sanchez for a moment (who was annoying as hell with all the stuff he said about Ward, money, and CWs), I don't get why people are so hung up on the idea of Golovkin missing out on a huge payday if he doesn't concede to Alvarez's CW demand. It seems to me that he just wants to fight for the glory and be a real MW champ by collecting dem beltz.

He's not exactly gonna be po' if he doesn't fight the ginger bwoi – plenty of paydays await him. And in the coming years, who's the one that's going to be labelled a "ducker" for dropping his belt rather than face a real challenge at the MW limit?
Because most of the detractors on this website don't understand how shh works dude. People think Golovkin somehow needs Canelo. Not quite understanding all of the potential sponsor money this guy could pull out of Europe alone. These guys make a lot more money than is seen on the surface because there are interests in the rights to his fights in places where other boxers have no leverage.

Likely it's the same mindset as constantly bickering about Mayweather and Pacquiao's PPV figures, and the vicariously-lived obsession over their bank balances. Except nowdays it's Alvarez (and to a lesser extent Cotto) who have fans like that, who want to turn every argument into "150,000 PPV buys, doe! Canelo is tha A-side, yo!"

Glory. That's what we should be fans of. Fighting for glory.

The fight isn't happening. Canelo's demands on weight are ludicrous.

I would sympathize with Alvarez if the issue was that he wanted like 60/40 or 65/35 money (with GGG making way less)- I honestly would. I can understand that.

No sympathy over the catch weight demands though. Real tired of marquis-fighters ruining the sport and making their own rules.

So like I just said in another post... GGG has a great excuse if he drops down to 155 and loses... he was depleted. Plus he'd have just made a huge paycheck. What's the problem? Or are you gonna come back with more jr high kid b.s.? Grow the fek up.

As I said in a post a few months back, Canelo is money. They won't force his hand.

If a lawsuit comes in they'll "deal with it quietly". But I firmly believe Canelo will be allowed to enforce Caneloweight at his leisure as long as nobody beats him.

For what it's worth, it'd be resolved if Khan somehow managed to beat Canelo, since he's not a natural middleweight. He'd have to vacate for sure.
