May the best man win. That's all that can be said here, neither guy is a malcontent per se despite the hyping up of the fight.

Kathy Duva, who lobbied for this purse bid in December 2014, labeled Haymon an “obstructionist”. By presenting herself to the WBC convention in mid December 2014, asking the WBC President to make the winner of the WBC Diamond belt, mandatory to Stevenson. Therefore, Sergey Kovalev TKO Jean Pascal on 03/15/2015, and following the WBC regulation about the free negociation period, the WBC ordered the purse bid for April 17, after (33) days. Even if Sergey Kovalev pulled out the purse bid on 04/15/2015, while he was a free agent.
So the WBC waited until Kovalev re-signed with HBO on 05/18/2015 and reset the purse bid for 05/29/2015, which Team Kovalev turn down again for a second time. Thereby, Stevenson/Michel/Haymon/WBC deliberately waited, patiently enough to set again a third purse bid for november 2015, to fight in January 2016. But Kathy Duva sets up a deal to fight Jean Pascal in January also, hoping to cause a delay in the discussions for a fight between Kovalev and Stevenson.
But team Kovalev didn't failed to pay all WBC sanction fees, yearly licensing fees, or any other fees, expenses, or fines payable in accordance with the Rules & Regulations or any WBC rulings. Means team Kovalev still wishes to keep the WBC Diamond belt, but what for, if they don't want to face Stevenson. Because they can forget their 1st option, Stevenson will not vacate his title nor be stripped from it, and they also can forget their hopes for option number 2, Adonis Stevenson will not loose his title down the road considering time and aging effects. So instead of joining efforts with team Stevenson for making an Undisputed championship clash of all top belts, team Kovalev ducked Stevenson so hard, they brought up Andre Ward name to patch the hole, eying a 75/25 win over him, while hoping to push Stevenson way more further.
Once a mind is set up, truth is always hard to accept, and no matter strong a lie occurs, it doesn't change the truth. Kovalev is not the Krusher, he's the Ducker.

This **** troubles you doesn't it? There's always arguments to be put forward to defend either side - why didn't Stevenson want the fight in 2014 or this year for instance - but the simple fact is it's gone off the boil. No-one really cares that much any more. Except you. Good luck.

Kovalev fans are weird, they always ask the same questions.
Even if they already know the answer, they can't stop asking you the same questions, just because they can't handle the truth.
Therefore, instead of repeating the answer you're already aware of, I present you a 2014 clip from someone who speak his mind with facts.
