    ^^^^^^This.

Yes. Postol is a runner and a clincher. You'd wonder why he's not getting the same fans as the others with similar style.

I just wish more fans would call it how it is. For example, floyd have very good defense to avoid punches, footwork, etc. and then there's time when floyd flat out back paddle to avoid punches or in the final round where he's leading on the score card, he'll just dance around the ring for all 3 minutes and not risk anything. but his fans will not call him out on that, instead they'll say thats footwork and movements.
Yea and the boxers that get hit in the face too much end up punch drunk. While guys like floyd still have good health.

There's legitimate footwork to befuddle a opponent and then there's running a.k.a. getting on the bicycle.

        Look it's simple, I don't pay top dollar$ to see a bunch of grown a s s men p u s s y foot around and fight like school girls.

I pay with my hard earned cash to see a entertaining fight.

so is it running when you still land more than your opponent and a higher % like Ward, Floyd roy jones and pernell whitaker?

or do people just use the term because they lack any knowledge of footwork

on this site people say "running" when a fighter they like doesnt know how to cut off the ring...."he running doe, all he did was run"......so yall missed the landed punches though smh

If u using your footwork or clinches in a effective manner cool.......but there is a such thing as running

I just dont like how people dont hold dudes accountable for not fighting out of clinches, cutting off ring, or adjusting

And look its a reason Why Cotto lost to Marg. and Shane didnt
If Cotto had used clinches maybe he wudnt have got walked down

There is a difference between good footwork and running. You know damn well there are some dudes that run. It has nothing to do with how adept they are with their feet. Prime example: Derrick Gainer.

The only people who call it "cowardly" or "running" are those who are fans of fighters with slow feet who don't know how to cut off the ring. This is why a lot of Latino (particularly Mexican) boxing fans call it "running", because most of their fighters are cement footed. They have power, but power alone ain't gonna get you far if you can't set up your work, which a lot of them can't because they don't know how to use their feet properly.

Canelo and Marquez are great exceptions, so of course the fans are becoming more and more tolerant of movement. But it will take some more time before they stop calling it running altogether.

Floyd of late ran, grabbed & held excessively. He pot-shotted his opponents when they were stuck in pursuit mode & were in poor position to land a counter. It's hard to hit a moving target, & I'll wager that most fighters train to fight, not chase, so it's hard to make that adjustment. Mayweather recently said that his body has been failing him. While he didn't say that's why he's been fighting as he has lately, one can sort of sum it up. He did what he had to do to win, which he has stated before. It's good for him and his fans, but I personally don't like that style. He did good to retire, before someone young & skilled caught up to him.

That doesnt change the point of what im trying to make. Im not saying boxers should eat punches for breakfast lunch and dinner but call it how it is. If a boxer is running, let it be known.
