I don't have a problem with Cotto fighting a Kirkland type fighter because he is coming off a loss. But if you want to have a rebound fight like this don't make it PPV. Making this a PPV is a tough sell for 2 reasons.
1. A better version of Kirkland just fought and lost to Canelo and that fight WAS NOT on PPV. So how can you justify to fans to pay for this when Canelo coming off wins and Kirkland coming off the biggest wins of his career fighting each other and NOT being PPV. And now you have Cotto coming off a loss and Kirkland coming off a brutal KO loss both fighting on PPV? If Cotto wanted his next fight to be PPV much better off getting a Marquez, Vargas, Brook, Andrade, Saunders, Crawford ect more creditable names to sell it.
2. Cotto and his fans spent all last year dogging Kirkland and Canelo for fighting him calling him a terrible opponent. And now you do a 180 and Kirkland AFTER being KO'd by Canelo is a quality opponent and one you expect fans to pay for?
Other then die hard Cotto fans I can't see many people buying this PPV. It's going to flop hard.
