Amateur boxing is not just a bunch of kids fighting for a medal to go pro afterwards, there are some amateur fighters who dedicated their whole lives to amateur boxing and amateur boxing alone and imo would beat most pro fighters in an amateur fight, they're used to the scoring system and they're also used to the pace.
The guy that supposedly beat Floyd Mayweather in the olympixs was like a 4 time amateur champion and 4 time European champion, I think someone with that kind of experience in the amateurs would beat any pro in an amateur fight.
So if Pacquiao or Klitschko wanna do it, let them do it as long as they get tested/treated like everyone else, I'd doubt that either of the 2 would get zo the semi finals.

The WBC has been very concerned about the AIBA encroaching on their turf for a while now. It's interesting because the hardcore boxing fans on this forum don't pay an ounce of attention to the AIBA or the World Series of Boxing. I wonder if the AIBA is planning something major for us.

I don't mind pro boxers participating in the Olympics. If anything it makes it more fun. What if some pros lose to the amateurs? That would be fun to watch. It's the amateur system, not the pro rules, so it would be different. The pros may very well get their asses handed to them by those youngsters who's amateur background is still fresh, while all these pros fought in the amateurs like a decade or 20 years ago, you never know. Plus guys like Pac never fought in the amateurs, so let him join if he decides. Maybe it's something he just wants to do in life, so what?

F#ck the WBC.
This is about the strongest stance I seen the WBC take on anything & its seemingly cuz they see AIBA has a threat.
