I've been hearing these excuses for years. Starting when I was a kid. Everyone was big on Chavez but I just couldnt see how he could beat Pernell Whitaker. He couldnt, but they sure screwed Whitaker out of a career best win.
I remember clear as day...he running doe, he clinching doe...they didnt even watch the fight because Whitaker beat him on the outside and inside and just worked angles. Came forward A lot too.
When Roy Jones was p4p king.....oh he boring, he dont fight nobody, he run....translation, he dominates and doesnt get hit...news flash, thats the point casual fan.(Ironically Jones supposedly didnt fight anyone but he held wins over 7/10 contenders when he was #1 @ 175, who else has done that in recent years?
Andre ward....he clinches, he is boring, he head butts.....so he didnt more punches and get hit @ a lower %...thats what boxing is all about....shouldnt pros know how to work out of a clinch?
