povetkin has long said he wants to fight in america..so for him to no take the opportunity and more money with the opportunity that leaves me to believe something fishy...
i already dont think povetkin is confident in this fight he's seen wilder keep the distance and punish faces with that jab..
There's more money in Russia than the US, thats what I assumed he meant

Povetkin fighting for another World title (albeit illegitimate) will sell out a massive Russian arena... perhaps the Olympiyskiy or Luzhniki stadium. Showtime/HBO are apparently interested no matter where the fight is. In the US, Wilder isn't a massive draw, and Povetkin is virtually unknown there. I can't see it selling nearly as much as it would in Russia. So his statement makes sense

u're explanation for money doesnt matter makes no sense...povetkin has had a belt before and he wasnt star..

i think their up to no good..just one man's opinion, but wilder needs to deal with that like the man he is...if they cheat him we'll see it..

wilder did 13k his last out in the barclay..safe to say he'd do it again in an even bigger fight...but the money is already up! crowd dont matter..this man said he is worried's with povetkin's purse just his COMFORT...not more money in russia...more comfort..more connections..i pray everything is on the up and up..and uchiyama is ducking the hell out of fortuna and the WBA is letting it happen...

No surprise. They didn't win the purse bid just to stage fight in Alabama.

think first..they didnt negotiate..wilder obviously was offering them fair even money to fight at the barclay's
the whole reason of not negotiation is to win the purse bid and hold the fight somewhere where wilder my consider a place worth dropping..

im sorry but that is wat i see happening now...he's been too fair with these guys and he see' slimy all over this just like i do im sure of it

Hopefully there is nothing fishy that goes on behind the scene in Russia. If wilder travels and beats him there should be no excuses to him being the #2 heavyweight behind the Fury/Klit winner.

i meant split of the 7M total purse bid i think its 75/25 for wilder but if povetkin comes to usa it would probably be close to 50. an he is a star in USSR he sells out over there

turned down fair offers...in order to fight in his hometown
                  and he's the challenger

i wonder if thunderbumboxing is going to call povetkin a diva?
skin color and hate for wilder says no

i know the purse and i know the splits..there is nothing a full arena can do to get 25% to be more than 50%...name his live gates and i bet u im right..
he's not going to get the gate anyways..the purse bid already determined their money..the rest goes to the promoters..once again tho...this man said "comfort" was the underlying factor..i just hope comfort doesnt mean povetkin vs huck part 2...bc that is a black eye for boxing

Povetkin's purse is already sorted. It looks to me that he's saying that he'd get more money for himself in Russia, and would be Povetkin's home field. That's a no brainer, which his response 'of course i'd pick the latter' seems to agree with. If he'd get more money in the US then it'd be a serious consideration, so I dunno why he'd respond like that if so.

Povetkin and Wilder may pull similar numbers, but a Russian vying to take a title from an American will sell great in Russia. The tickets are usually more expensive in Russia too, so the gate is much more. The Barclays Wilder fight started at $25, whereas the Povetkin fight in the Olimpiyskiy indoor arena started at $125, with the high end tickets famously rising to levels in excess of $5000 (Boxing 247 report $9000) and still sold out pretty quickly. It's not that far fetched to see something similar again
