Comments Thread For: Lomachenko vs. Walters Headed to Garden's Big Room, June 11

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has told krikya360.com that while Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1, 3KOs) and Nicholas Walters (26-0-1, 21KOs) are still on a collision course it will not be on April 30th as originally planned.

Lomachenko will once again fight twice this year, because fatass Walters needs more time to make weight.
But of course somehow it's Lomachenko's fault. It always is according to people.
This fight better be at 126, Walters should have no excuses now that he gets extra months to make the weight.

This is going to be a great fight. I still can't pick a winner.

This isn't a big room fight. Perplexing decision.

Yeah, I'm curious to see what opponent they get for Verdejo on this card, if they're going to the "big room".

Filling out the card I'd guess they'll have the regular east coast guys like Seanie Monaghan and Julian Rodriguez on the undercard, as well as that new Puerto Rican boxer Jean Carlos Rivera on the card.

Whatever, though, I love the fight...wonder if they'll get Lomachenko a stay busy fight before June.

As good as that fight is, 90% of the tickets bought will be for Verdejo.

Walters can't even make 130 now either. The fight better be at 126. Walters gets an extra two months to cut 4 more pounds. I would have been fine with 130 if the fight took place in April, but now it's delayed for two months! What kind of crap is that. So no excuses it better be at 126. I think it will be at 130, because Arum wants to give that WBO belt to Oscar Valdez.
It's not Lomachenko's fault that Walters gains so much weight in between fights. Loma should have been able to fight in April then late summer, but now because of Walters Loma won't be able to fight in April.
Obviously as a Lomachenko fan this pisses me off. I want to see him be more active.
They could give Loma a stay busy fight, but there is a risk of him being cut or getting a fractured hand. You just never know.

But anyway, **** Arum as well. That guy cares nothing for Eastern European/Central Asian fighters. They have to stop signing with him.
                  Rant over.

it aint nobodies fault..hbo is relluctant to put the fight on. they aint giving bob dates..and felix's ppl would be very dumb to let bob us him as the ticket seller and not get paid well for it..i mean well as 100% well. this is iffy comment by bob..and lomo cant get hbo dates bc they dont see him ko'ing ppl..and likely bc bob has not presenteed any big name to them as his opponent bc he's saving the walters fight..
