I noticed that Roman Martinez's next opponent, Miguel Berchalt, is the betting favorite for their fight on 3/12. At the risk of sounding like a ****** casual, I'll admit that I didn't even realize he was fighting again so soon. The betting line on the fight stuck out at me since I have no idea who Berchalt is. Anyone seen him fight? Any thoughts on who would win between them?

Noticed the champ was a dog, I guess the odds are based on the fact he is fighting a Mexican in Mexico.
So if it goes to the cards, which is likely, Rocky will probably get shafted. Nobody will feel bad for him because he should have lost to a Mexican.
I thought about playing Martinez, but this looks like a sucker bet, a unknown fighter favored against a proven world class fighter. I think I will stay away.

Miguel Berchelt is a good fighter and was doing well for himself until he got KO'd in the first round against a no name a few years back. He was much too wild and left himself far too open at times when he mounted his offense. He was also extremely jittery in the sense that he wanted to finish the night fast and viciously.
However, with his loss he was able to learn from it and looks much better now. He can still get tagged but he has calmed down a lot more, he's very precise and accurate as well as powerful and throws good combinations to the body and head when moving forward.
He may have more KO power than Martinez but Roman has an extremely solid chin and if he can withstand Miguel's onslauht in the first half, I can see him taking over in the mid to late rounds and grinding him down. It should be an explosive fight and rather interesting since the younger fighter is rather vulnerable but has game changing power.
