Comments Thread For: Khan: Mayweather Showed Me The Blueprint To Beat Canelo

While it might appear like a dangerous risk to take, British superstar Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) feels very confident that he's more than capable of upsetting WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Caenlo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) on May 7th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

He's looking at the worst game plan possible.

Mayweather's pocket defence and counters were the key to his performance. Not to mention his perfect timing and ring smarts.

Khan doesn't have any of those attributes. He can't afford to stand in front of Canelo even once let alone for long stretches.

If he's going to win, it won't be by executing Floyd's gameplan.

This guy should be institutionalized for his own good. He's clearly not in touch with reality.

I wonder what goes on in Khans mind that makes him think he can fight like Mayweather. The delusion is real!

Is Khan gonna use the shoulder roll?

If Amir Khan plans on winning this fight, he best try his best to adapt on the fly in the ring. Trying to emulate anything CLOSE to what Floyd did back in 2013, is a recipe for disaster. For starters, Canelo isn't even the same fighter he was back then. I feel bad for Khan. Like many have already stated, the lack of a rehydration clause symbolizes Khan's impending Doom...Even without the RHC, he was still screwed.

Expect Canelo to PRESS, hard and early, and be heavily on the offensive. Khan has never been good at fighting off of his back leg. I expect this to end in less than 4 rounds.

                  Mark it in the books.

Floyds way of beating Nelo was getting him green and with the added bonus of CW.

Khan has neither of these. In fact hes getting the prime Nelo. Khan has made it harder for himself. But khan maybe better than Floyd. If he beats Nelo i'd consider khan better than Floyd.
