so even if ward holds nonstop which is illegal you won't say anything? you will say he outsmarted kovalev because he was allowed to cheat? i suppose that is true in a certain sense but kind of spits in the face of a legit sporting event.

Of course holding can be taken too far; and fighters should be penalized if it does. But clinching is part of the game, and it always has been. The amount of Ward's clinches are nowhere near worth point deductions. In my opinion.

of course he's good but we don't know how good he really is without cheating and grabbing constantly. sure he can beat guys like paul smith but he was grabbing a guy like miranda constantly because miranda was touching him up. even though we know he's going to go in there and grab constantly we still pick kovalev. that's how much we think of kovalev. if he gets grabbed to death and loses the fight oh well what can you do. fools will come on here and say it was a great performance like floyd-maidana 2, ward-kessler, and many other fights. seen it over and over.

That just means Kovalev sucks at avoiding clinches. Skilled boxers know how to avoid a clinch completely, break the clinch, work within a clinch, or stop the other boxer from working within the clinch.

If Kovalev can't do even one of those against Ward then that will only prove that he's just another glorified bum.

He is right! I dont like Ward style, but he is one hell of a fighter. Anybody who think its a sure victory for Kovalev is biased. Same as anyone who think Ward will beat him easily. For me, its a 50/50 fight
