I think u misunderstand. If Haymon wins the purse bid, he has every right to choose the network and HBO can't do anything about that. So I'm pretty sure that's why they are even allowing the negotiating.

I blame whoever is at fault. Deals often fall through. I will wait to see the outcome. HBO could change just like they did with Stevenson/Kov and the purse bid.

If Haymon decides to let it go to a purse bid, that doesn't mean the fight can't get made. Just means HBO has to outbid for the fight.

When exactly has HBO or any network won a purse bid?
They buy fights from promoter don't they?

And what did they have to do with the Kovalev-Stevenson purse bid? Main events couldn't win the bid so they pulled out...

Once again HBO buys fights from promoters for what they want to pay for the fight. They don't send people to purse bids and win them.

That's bull. Haymon has not once said his fighters can't fight on HBO. In fact, he has been willing. Look at Kovalev vs Stevenson. Only reason that fight is even being negotiated is because Haymon allows his fighters to fight on HBO.

Why the fcuk is Dan Rafael lying by saying Haymon's fighters were banned by Hershman when that's not the case. This is how rumors get started and trickles out to the masses.

According to Dan:



Anyone who follows boxing should already know that Haymon, the Premier Boxing Champions creator, and HBO had a serious fracture in their relationship a couple of years ago. Because of that, Haymon’s fighters are banned from the network, a decision made by former HBO Sports president Ken Hershman.

Con****uously missing from HBO's schedule are fighters managed by Haymon, not coincidentally fighters who have mainly eschewed competitive fights until a big payday was on the horizon. But we don't rule anything out and we don't ban anyone. It's not about that. We're just trying to articulate to everyone in the community what our objectives, goals and requirements are. Hopefully there are enough people who agree with them and see the benefits of being on the HBO platform."


This is just piss poor lazy journalism by Dan and he loses a lot of credibility.
