The HBO/Haymon rift initially started with Haymon helping Mayweather move to Showtime. The last straw was when Showtime/GB/Haymon counter programmed the Martinez/Chavez ppv with Alvarez/Lopez, which followed Haymon/Schaeffer taking Alvarez & Broner to Showtime after HBO sunk millions into those fighters as their future stars. Haymon was flat out attacking HBO at that point and they didn't have much choice but end the previous business arrangements.
    Yep, I remember now.

It's really on the WBA to initiate this and bring all acting party's to the table. I hope they pull the trigger on Wednesday.

Then the trustworthy Schaefer took a payoff from Hymen to effectively cripple Showtime boxing so that PBC could take off. Once the ratings started to plummet and they realized that they couldn't foot the bill for these crazy purses, they crawled back to Showtime so they could foot the bill.

Why not just skip Korobov if the WBA mandates it on Wednesday?

Another question is if GGG knows he's high risk-low reward and knows HBO has problems with other promoters and networks, why does he keep signing these lengthy contracts with HBO knowing he runs the chance of isolating himself from other pools of fighters?

EDIT: Eastcoast what's GGG's current contract status with HBO?

Wasn't Lemieux suppose to be his last fight of a 4 fight deal signed before Daniel Geale?

Why do you list Rubio as the first of Golovkin's 4 fights when it says Geale was the first?

I forgot about this quote. You threw me off with the way you numbered the fights above so I skipped over it and forgot to come back.

Here's how I counted the minimum of four fights contract:

                  1 Geale

                  2 Rubio

                  3 Murray

                  4 Monroe Jr

                  5 Lemieux

The article just says min of 4 fights which GGG has fulfilled. Who's to say HBO can't temporarily cut GGG out for one fight against Jacobs. Although it may be a different situation, GGG fought Adama on a different network even though he was signed to HBO.

Lol It's all good man. Schit happens

So what do you think. It sounds like GGG already fulfilled his 4 fight minimum contract obligations with HBO?

Loeffler has no problem with Haymon/PBC and the new HBO exec is on board making the best fights.

Unless Team Jacobs has already been contacted and we just don't know about it, I see no reason why Korobov is even in the mix and Team Jacobs/GGG haven't been in negotiations to this point?
