Comments Thread For: CompuBox Statistical Leaders - 2015 Review, Breakdown

INSIDE THE NUMBERS - Erislandy Lara's the opponent most fighter's aren't in a hurry to fight -efficient and accurate on offense and a defensive wizard. Only Chocolatito and Fonfara landed more total & power punches than Santa Cruz, whose jab and defense are under rated. Walters nearly doubled the C'box avg. for jabs landed per round while landing 52% of his power shots. Safety-first Floyd #1 in plus/minus as expected but he landed below C'box avg. for total punches & jabs landed per round. Only Wilder (61%) landed a higher pct. of power punches than Floyd. Jacobs opponents landed just 22% of their power shots and only 6 punches per round.

GGG is only rated this high because he fights real life punching bags in the ring.

His quality of fighters are < than that of the Brandon Rios/Mike Alvarado's of the world.

You can say that about anyone on the list. Apart from Mayweather, who fought a P4P rated fighter this year, none of those guys actually fought anyone significant.

The one thing that surprises me is how low Danny Garcia was rated. His opponents connect percentage was the 2nd highest, they landed 41% on him. That's mainly from the Peterson fight. He only fought two opponents this year, Peterson and Malignaggi.

I don't think Danny is very good tbh. He might face a harsh reality at 147.

I quit worrying about Garcia a long time ago when I used to bet $$$$$ against him. He for some reason fights up OR DOWN to the competition in front of him. He ALWAYS finds a way to win.

Vargas and Rios are hardly top 50 P4P guys, and Canelo and Cotto fought each other. It also depends on how you view Brian Viloria and Sosa, I think both of them are good but also past their prime.

Yeah it's called a bribe, boxing judges love them. That and all the cherry picking obvs.
