Comments Thread For: Marquez: Canelo Capable of Beating Golovkin on Points

According to future Hall of Famer Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs), WBC middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) is capable of beating Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), who holds the IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight belts.

    Could!

Canelo could win on points, but s more likely to get sat the **** down.

That's why Canelo and his apologist are wanting Canelo to start quacking away.

    Quack, quack, quack.

If Canelo does have a chin, he could. But we still don't know that. AFAIK, the only heavy puncher he has ever fought who is not a nobody, his same size, was Angulo. But for some strange reason, Angulo was throwing pillow punches in that fight. And he was slower and clumsier than normal.

If I am not wrong, this would be the first time that Canelo would face a guy his size, who actually punches much harder than him, and also has (apparently) much better stamina than Canelo. If Canelo survives the first six rounds I can see him winning by decision. I think there could be knock downs on each side in this fight, if they do engage in furious exchanges, which is what most of us will be expecting for.

^ Canelo will be stripped though, lol. Poor lil G fan boy everything happen like I told you it would. Canelo is the A side there was no way the WBC would ever strip Nelo the new face of boxing after whooping Cotto. It's time for lil G to kick rocks again

not a fanboy of either..but canelo couldnt deal with floyd's jab...and i know u could say but floyd is the greatest...we tell me why ctto's jab was a problem?? is he the greatest too..the fact is canelo just failed to stop a man likely 15lb smaller than him if not more while 900k watched and he got hit with jabs and power shots...the smaller guy couldnt work his body bc canelo was too wide and his shots would hit elbows even if canelo's defense was shakey and bc he couldnt sit down on shots bc canelo's 20lbs heavier shots would hurt him....ggg will keep canelo at range and make him look highly average..wont be a fun fight unless ggg makes it fun..canelo get the lemule treatment all over again.
winning on points means we all are here int eh comment section scream "investigate golden boy", "they hate haymon doe!?", "fire the judged", "worst than his 117 card", and many more calls of BS/concern

canelo couldnt knock down a 20lb lighter cotto who has been dropped and stopped...canelo couldnt knock down a shot angulo that threw 5 hard punches the entire fight...he had to bring kirkland back after a layoff also without anne wolfe in order to have a easy fight and kirkland still touched him up for a few rounds..

he isnt going to do a think with GGG and him not getting in the ring with him now proves it all..he knows it

Canelo would probably get stopped unless he started running which would be uncharacteristic of him. GGG got sick stamina and the farther the fight goes, the more aggressive he becomes. Look at the Lemieux fight towards the end and the last rounds of the Murray fight. I like Canelo as a fighter because of his style, but GGG is another league of fighter. TBH, the only guys who could drop GGG are fighting at 168 or 175.

It will be interesting to see who it is that eventually beats GGG and what style they used. Not impossible that Canelo could be the guy, afterall, all fighters, even the true greats lose fights and GGG is not superhuman and above all the greats that ever lived. He will lose, it happens.

                    I can't see Canelo seeing 12.

He's a solid boxer and a good counter puncher but he doesn't have the feet or defense to stop Golvokin from getting into range and landing hard shots on a consistent basis IMO.
