Daniel Jacobs hints at the GGG fight happening in 2016

All the 3G fans are ok with Taureno Johnson and Omar Chavez for 2016. They're ok with it because who is Jacobs? Ummm, Jacobs is the guy that KO'd Quillin in 83 seconds.

Yeah and Jacobs is a darn good boxer, possibly better than anybody Golovkin has beaten. If people want Golovkin to fight better opponents, then they really should be supporting a Jacobs fight.

No one prefers Johnson over any of these guys including Jacobs. What most people are talking about isn't about wanting it's typically about explaining the situation, for example I've explained to you before that Johnson is his mandatory and the only way around a mandatory is to fight a title holder for a unification fight (Canelo or BJS) and Jacobs wouldn't be a unification fight as the IBF doesn't recognize Jacob's regular title.

Yes, and I've explained to you that BJS is very scared of GGG and has admitted such; therefore, he won't fight him at least for the next 18 months according to BJS himself making their potential fight within the next few months moot. I've also explained to you that Canelo won't fight GGG unless there's a 155 lb catchweight. If not Jacobs, where does that leave us for 2016? GGG vs Taureno Johnson and Omar Chavez.

I absolutely agree 100%.

Of course you have the counter argument of Jacobs being TKO'd 6 years ago or so and many people question his chin, in which I don't. But being that GGG has 20 straight KO's, everyone is susceptible to GGG's power, weak chin, medium chin or strong chin.

But I'll take someone with a fighting chance of also landing a KO blow (i.e. Jacobs) over someone with a really good chin, but no chance in hell of winning.

Golovkin's manager says even though they have a contract with HBO, they're neutral when it comes to Haymon/PBC and haven't asked HBO for a fight with one of Haymon's fighters yet.

Being that GGG most likely won't fight BJS or Canelo this year, GGG-Jacobs needs to happen after GGG takes care of his mandatory and Jacobs does the same. Hopefully the WBA will go ahead and pull the trigger being GGG-Canelo most likely won't happen due to weight issues.

Team Golovkin need to open up about potential negotiations with Jacobs/Haymon.

The only thing I can find on the net is Team Jacobs talking about Golovkin, but no one from Team Golovkin says a peep about Jacobs. Almost as if he doesn't exist.

Even split is a bit much, you could say they're pricing themselves out. Ggg has multiple belts, Jacobs has a junior belt. Ggg sells out Msg vs Canadian, Jacobs does weak gate in his hometown vs undefeated NYer, and those pathetic TV ratings

Loefler says he's neutral with PBC/Haymon. I think this is something they should discuss because although I believe Jacobs has the bigger single victory against Quillin, I'm no manager or promoter. But the fact that they know that BJS won't fight them and Canelo has weight issues yet haven't said one peep about Jacobs after his destruction of Quillin puzzles me.

Regarding the viewer numbers for Quillin-Jacobs, I don't think anyone could correctly gauge those numbers because the fight ended after 83 seconds not giving enough time to give an accurate count for potential viewers. I'd say at least 2-3 rounds to be able to gauge accurate numbers.

Secondly, can you link me to accurate attendance numbers for Jacobs/Quillin and Lemieux/GGG? I can't find anything for Jacobs/Quillin.

This fight happening doesn't depend on team 3G or fans' expression of support. (Since when did Haymon listened to fans? Probably once every 2 years?) This fight depends on whether Jacobs wants it now or at some point in time. Fans don't even expect him to dive straight to a 3G fight. They expect him to take soft touches first and enjoy his winning streak. No problem. If that's what he wants.

Yeah, okay. Right now GGG is targeting the belts, or possibly a high pay-day. It's obvious his main focus is Canelo, followed by BJS. September is when it will be found out whether or not Canelo is down to fight him or not--- stop making assumptions. If he doesn't fight Canelo, or BJS doesn't say, "Let's fight sometime soon" after September passes, then we can start talking about who his next opponent should be.

Who knows? Canelo can duck him, maybe get stripped (yeah right), and then BJS might say, "let's fight for all of the belts"? Or, neither fights him, and GGG still gets a fight with Andy Lee in? Either way, it's all speculation as is.
