Agree. I can see giving Sosa three rounds. I can even see why judges would give four.

The commentary was very annoying. They were oohing and aahing Walters shots and Sosa was walking through them and punching back and clipping Walters too which went largely unnoticed.

Bad decision, but a pretty good fight overall.

Walters will need to box better if he's going up against Uchiyama.
Not sure that his power is going to bail him out anymore.

      I can't.

There's only one way a fight should be scored: Quantity and Quality of punches.

Waiters landed more shots. He landed cleaner and he landed harder, in almost every round.

Boxing is supposed to reflect combat. In combat, effort and missing attacks don't count. If you can't accurately score a fight you should lose your job. Simple as that. I don't want to see any of those judges again.

But the draw isn't as bad as it first seems cos a lot of those round were very close and even though Walters was more accurate, at times it looked like Sosa was busier and FORCING the action a lot more. I can see why those judges may have felt it was closer than you or I or HBO.

Sosa made me a fan last night and now I'm not sure if Walters is as good as I thought he was. Maybe his size advantage at featherweight flattered him?
I think Walters clearly won the fight but I don't think his punching power is all good as first thought. His first fight against a legit featherweight saw him drop his opponent but he couldn't take him out. Now he fights a 130lb fighter and didn't do too much damage.

Darchinyan and Donaire while being good fighters where really small compared to Walters.

He has very good power but it's not as good as GGG or Kovalev power but more on par with Keith Thurman's.

Can't explain it any other way.

The ONLY idiot here is Walters, he let this dude hang around and he got exactly what he deserved, these decisions happen all the time in 10 round fights.

I knew the judges would see it way closer than what the HBO team was calling.

The Darchinyan KO wasn't all that impressive, considering Vic was a good fighter but nothing more but his dismantling, after taking some serious shots from Donaire, of a true elite, HOF worthy boxer really had me thinking "WOW!!".

I do agree that his power is more like the wear you down kind that Thurman has but Walters is skilled and moves very well, setting up those shots like a true pro. The problem is, he may be limited as he didn't, at any stage, completely outclass Sosa. He won those rounds but he edged them, imo anyway.

Is Walters' contract with Top Rank expiring soon?

The HBO crew were not objective at all in their commentating. They had already determined the winner, Walters, and their objective was just to talk and hype him up the whole fight.

I'm disgusted how biased HBO is and am glad that we have such a good alternative in Showtime. Also, wish that you turn off the commentary and just watch the fight without all interference.

Agreeded I didn't see anything other than activity from Sosa in the earlier round. I thought he did better in the late rounds especially round 9.

I hope Walters just goes straight to Uchiyama because I have no interest in a seeing a rematch.
