Comments Thread For: Nicholas Walters: It's Christmas So I Gave Sosa One Round

Verona, NY – It took Nicholas Walters more than an hour to wrap his head around what took place in his latest ring performance. The former featherweight performance was believed to have dominated Camden, New Jersey slugger Jason Sosa over 10 rounds in their HBO-televised co-feature Saturday evening at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

Pretty much.....wtf was that decision. The kid did some nice work but really? He was outclassed and dominated. Possibly the worst decision all year.

I gave Sosa 2 rounds lol

But the draw isn't as bad as it first seems cos a lot of those round were very close and even though Walters was more accurate, at times it looked like Sosa was busier and FORCING the action a lot more. I can see why those judges may have felt it was closer than you or I or HBO.

Sosa made me a fan last night and now I'm not sure if Walters is as good as I thought he was. Maybe his size advantage at featherweight flattered him?

I think the HBO commentating last night was grossly biased for Walters and the crew didn't give credit to Sosa for all the good work he was doing. Sosa was the aggressor, threw more punches and landing a lot of good clean ones.
That said, I thought Walters comfortably won the fight through his superior boxing and cleaner punches. I scored it 7-3 for Walters and I could easily see 6-4 but the draw on the two judges scorecards and the 96-94 card was very surprising.

I didn't keep a scorecard because it didn't seem necessary.

Those judges need to be shot.

They have no business scoring fights.
