Comments Thread For: Promoter: Wach, Durodola Both Failed Drug Tests

Promoter Andrei Ryabinsky of World of Boxing has confirmed krikya360.com's story from late Wednesday night, indicating that Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach (31-2, 17KOs) tested positive for a banned substance in the aftermath of his TKO defeat to Alexander Povetkin on November 4th in Kazan, Russia.

A statement from Wach himself would be appreciated.

RUSADA having been suspended themselves gives them zero credibility, I don't care if either was cheating, if they were tested by a shady organisation then I refuse to accept their findings as fact until they are retested and not the original samples.

I like Kudryashov and I also admire Wach's career, I'm not trying to pull down or push any one of their careers. I would like a testing agent who is completely of neutral standing. It sounds to me their is more at play here with Wach being denied his minimal pay he was due for this fight regardless. It is known Wach took a small purse in this fight to be free of his promotional outfit, why cheat him out of it ? As for the other guy Durodola, could it be possible this is sour g****s by Ryabinsky to taint him ? I do not rule this out until VADA or another body as concluded their findings in new tests.

Take everything that comes out of Russia with a grain of salt.

Maybe Wach is a cheat, but in the instance of Durodola and Jones (vs Lebedev) you have to wonder. The Russian testers seem real good at catching visiting fighters, especially if they beat the home guy.

This is crazy, articles states that they don't even say who actually did the test. And they are holding these fighters pay? If RUSADA is banned than who did the test?

Insane, no one but Roy Jones and other Russian fighters will be crazy enough to fight in Russia anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if other athletic commissions decide not to respect this decision.

I think this is fair especially with RUSADA being the chosen testing agents of Ryabinsky.

Now boxing world begins to understand why Klitschko refused RUSADA testing when Povetkin fought the then champion.

They would never taint the defector. Jones is basically a legitimised Russian now.
