Whyte said in the Face-off that Joshua isn't who you think and I've seen instances that agree with that. I'm not going to fault Joshua, having a 'fame persona' isn't a bad thing but Whyte does have a point. For example, Joshua is really humble in post fight interviews etc you wouldn't think the kid could be brash. But then I've seen times where he's all ego and talking mad shit, didn't think it was him at first.

Whyte seems to know the guy on a personal level too so maybe he changed when he won Olympic gold.

Either way, it isn't much of a rivalry to the British public so I guess they need some angle. Fights like this don't really work until both men have earnt some notoriety. If Groves hadn't fallen off so hard, his rematch against DeGale would be big.
What instances of Joshua being a scumbag have you seen?

I saw a vid after the gloves are off aired and they asked Joshua how they knew each other and he only knew him from one camp they shared together.

Whyte is just trying to stir and sell. Seems like it's working on some.

It is actually "Patois". I am Jamaican and, yes, english is our first language and Spanish is our second language. Patois is a dialect, but you are correct that it is broken english, but also a mix of African words, and new slangs are added everyday.

I wouldn't say scumbag, just a different persona to the one he has when he's in front of cameras ringside.

Maybe he's just a private person. I wouldn't say that is anything near scumbag status.

Apparently they kept a load of stuff back from the final cut. Whyte apparently got very personal. Shame they never aired it. Might have made it a least a little bit more interesting.

Whyte comes across as that himself, without having to look deep.

Joshua may have a media personality, but why is it a problem to maximize interest and appeal?

What evidence is there that Josh is media trained? Is Joshs resume on LinkedIn?

But Josh probablys is a bit nervous about the gansta Whyte. Offering him a streetfight is probably a bit worry as if anyone asked him for a streetfight when Josh is doing his shopping he probably would get nervous even if a 80 year old man offered him it.

Josh seems like a nice boy, that's how I like them. Like GGG a choirboy.

I think some people would rather Joshua faked being a nutter or a loose cannon.

As it is he just comes across as a polite well rounded pro. Heaven forbid.

He said he moved from Jamaica and had to learn to speak English. Forgive my naivety, but isn't English the official language in Jamaica? I know they speak some form of broken English, but it's still English... It can't be that much different.

He was probably from an extreme deprive part of Jamaica. Probably didn't have an education, I mean he had a child at 13!!!!

I think he has being told to act humble, to get his marketability up. My brother use to know him and he use to tell him how Joshua is not the same person that he knew. He has a MBE now so am sure he would want to conduct himself in a better way, not the drug dealer bully that he use to be in north London.

                      Or maybe he grew up.

What's with the need to find holes in his personality?

North London? I thought he was always a Watford lad?
