Wlad was once an offensive machine over ten years ago. Even then he was starting to morph into the clinch machine he would later become. Wlad is 39 and hasn't had to fight in that way in over twenty fights. Let those stats sink in for a minute. The last time he put on an offensive display he was still in his twenties and had yet to be bombed out by Sanders. I was still at Uni and Tony Blair was still in office. YouTube was a new internet phenomenon and twitter hadn't been invented yet. That's a long damn time, in other words.

You're asking Wlad, an old man in boxing terms and one on his way out the door, to suddenly rediscover his old reckless fighting style after he spent a lifetime supressing it and start employing it in under a year? You're not thinking realistically. Wlad is what he is. He's honed himself to never take risks, they're engrained in his deepest core program. His body and mind are perfectly in tune to fighting in this way and to change things so drastically would result in utter disaster for him as a fighter. He no longer possesses the same instincts let alone the physical capability to employ such a style. It's just not going to happen.

If post-Steward Wlad somehow convinces himself to turn into pre-Steward Wlad overnight he's going to quickly find his body doesn't have any of the necessary snap, fluidity or or energy anymore. And then he's going to get KOed.

I guess you forgot about the Wach fight?He was an offensive hulk in that fight and a machine,due to the most likely factor he dedicated that fight to ste***** passing,so we you cant say he will not show up. If that Wlad comes to fight I highly doubt Fury drops his hands .The only difference is Fury has movements and Wach has chin and maybe slightly more power?

Wlad was a lot more active in that fight, but he was still a far cry from the offensive juggernaut that destroyed Ray Mercer. When he tried to finish Wach in the eighth or whichever round it was his combinations looked forced and arm-punchy, same as when he fought Pianeta, another punch bag. Point taken though. Wlad is at least mentally capable of fighting more aggressively, though the fact that he knew nothing was going to come back no doubt made that a lot easier to do.

Any big man at nearly 250 throwing that many power shots is going to slow...the same as any 5"10 guy carrying 220 pounds like Tyson no matter how physically conditioned you are..Mercer was a bit older and didn't have a Wach chin at that point,or maybe ever?I would say Wach was hit harder than ive ever seen anyone hit and not just one round but twlelve rounds....If Wlad winning early round or half rounds against Fury ,he would not need to k.o him.....he went out of his way to k.o Wach as stated he wanted to get a k.o foe Manny and without peds that Wach was on may have done so. Wlads problem like Tysons for whatever reason is the need to be motivated...that's his one fault and a major one.

It beggars belief. Put Kovalev in the ring with Fury and he'd be destroyed in under five rounds. Weight classes exist for a very good reason.
