Comments Thread For: George Groves Returns on January 30th in London

George Groves will begin his assault on a fourth World title shot at the top of a stacked Matchroom Boxing and Team Sauerland card at the Copper Box in London on Saturday, January 30, live on Sky Sports.

The Hammersmith man lost out in a split decision to Badou Jack for the WBC Super Middleweight title in Las Vegas in September but has ambitions to land his dream World title in 2016.

‘’It’s great to be back,’’ said Groves. ‘’I’m looking forward to boxing in London again. This is a chance for me start the New Year on the front foot. I want to get as many fights as possible and start building momentum as I work my way back into World title contention.’’ [Click Here To Read More]

Looking forward to seeing him return. He needs to rebuild slowly and regain his confidence, get back to basics. It had been an exhausting couple of years... He battered Froch and had it unfairly taken away, then the promotional for the rematch, then he got knocked out badly, rebuilt with two wins and then lost to Jack for the WBC belt in a fight that, if he was on top form, he would have won by knockout. Something isn't right and hopefully he gets it sorted, because he has the potential to win a world title. The Groves that beat DeGale and dominated Froch the first time, even the one who was in a close chess match with Froch in the rematch before the knockout, will win a world championship

i don't know what to expect with Groves no more, the big problem for him is his chin, a clean punch and he is wobbled, also his stamina is shocking, he cant not go past 7 round without looking dead on his feet, i always said he should move up but right now the LHW hit harder than the SMW,

Was starting to worry about Ugly Kid after he ran out the ring, closed his social media accounts and shaved his bald swede.

He should fight Murray in a crossroads fight.

I like Groves and he is a very good fighter, rematch Jack and then there's options with DeGale, possibly Smith and maybe one of the Dirrells. Still a lot left for the ugly kid to do.
