The second, the third, the 10th and the 11th were all clear rounds for Cotto.

Canelo's clear rounds were the 7th and the 12th.

I can see the closer rounds being more difficult to score, for example the first or the 8t hand 9th.

But your a **** boxing "fan" anyway so I don't give a **** if you think Cotto won any or not.

Why were they clear rounds for Cotto?

The 8th round was close? LOL...Canelo was beating Cotto up in that round with clean right hands and uppercuts.

Learn how to score boxing please.

I felt Canelo beat Trout in a close fight, but after re-watching it I lean towards a Draw. I'd say Lara too was a Draw.

At the end of the day Canelo doesn't have the amateur pedigree and will struggle with a guy who has good footwork.

They were announcing the open scoring in the Trout bout. Trout had to change tactics which led to the knockdown.

No way that fight Canelo was winning wide at the point they announced it. But it is true. Canelo gets way too much credit for winning a round. So far I haven't had a problem with the decisions but if this trend continues you will have one of those fights...

this is a very good point.

canelo does have a ton of experience, but he doesn't have the international amateur background that exposes guys to lots of different styles that employ movement. that's where you learn to fight movers.

he was fighting professionally in the second half of his teens and getting experience, but it wasn't against guys who move well. he was exposed to the styles you see in mexico.

Change tactics? Dude was dropped in the opening sequence of the round in the middle of the ring by a feint jab straight right. How did the open-scoring play a role in that? Would he have dodged the right if he didn't know the scoring?

Truth is they announced the scores to the corners during the 4th and 8th rounds. Trout knew he had no shot after the 8th round. The fight was pretty similar throughout as Trout was the aggressor from the opening bell and Canelo relied on countering.

So you are telling me that when they announced the scores and Canelo was way ahead that you agreed with it and that did not influence the tactics used by Trout?

No but you said the Knockdown was a result of the open scoring, which it clearly wasn't. The influence it might have had was only in the last third of the fight. In fact it influenced both fighters tactics since Canelo knew he had a huge lead. I believe Alvarez was cleanly outboxing Trout even if he gave away rounds due to inactivity.

He is the WBC's favorite fighter. I don't know if that affects the judges as much as his promoter might but it seems like he is being guided to a great career if someone doesn't score an upset over him.
