The point of this thread was more that even if some of his opponents had one a couple more rounds and won the fight, they would have still lost.

    Why?

It's all ifs and buts though because a fair decision was reached each time.

How many clear rounds did Cotto actually win last night? Because there can't have been more than 1 or 2 IMO.

There's rarely ever a case where I agree with every scorecard from official judges. There always seems to be at least one completely outlandish score these days.

I think I gave Cotto 4 rounds. Giving him 1 round is a stinking insult.

It just seems to be a common theme with Canelo that he gets outlandish scorecards. Why didn't Lara get a 9-3 card?

That's is being groomed and expected to be the' star attraction after Floyd retires. Floyd also got a lot of benefit from judging. But for Canelo my god, they are going to extreme to please him. Las Vegas wants Canelo to fill floyds void. Floyd brings a lot of money to Vegas and the Nevada commission will do what ever it takes to get Canelo to make Vegas his boxing home.

The cotto card and the Floyd card should be sent to fbi for investigation. I know judging is subjective. However these are most certainly criminal.

              1. Austin Trout

              - I clearly remember this fight for one thing. Open judging. And it was bad. Trout was outboxing Canelo for large parts of the fight imo - I even think I had it a draw watching it live.

              Slight win for Canelo maybe.

Two of the scorecards read: 118-109 & 116-111. Laughable cards.

              2. Floyd Mayweather

              - Was outboxed from start to finish over 12 rounds. Hardly landed a decent shot all night.

One of the scorecards read 114-114. Possibly the worst scorecard ever in a world title fight.

              3. Erislandy Lara

              - Canelo looked amateurish to say the least, following Lara around without really cutting the ring off and was getting countered quite easily, albeit by a guy with a negative style.

One of the scorecards read: 117-111.

Overall, it was very debatable whether Canelo deserved that decision.

              4. Miguel Cotto

              - For my liking he lost most of the early rounds, it was give and take BUT HE DID DESERVE the win in the end. However, I saw JMM calling it a draw - and I know he's shown bias against Canelo in the past, but it was more a draw than these cards:

              118-110, 119-109, 117-111.

For *** sake, one of the judges had Cotto winning 1 round. That's absolutely ridiculous.

What is it with this guy and favourable decisions? Honestly.
They want him to be the next cash cow

It's going to be hard to win a decision against him.

It looks to me like Canelo walks into the fight with at least one judge all but in the bag based on the most silly cards among each of those fights (11-1 vs Cotto, 6-6 vs Floyd, 9-3 vs Lara & 10-2 vs Trout). I think those scorecards in fights that were all deemed threatening to Canelo's L column are some of the most clear indications of corruption in scoring today.

But I mean the reality is this has been going on since I've been watching boxing (& before). I remember early on when I just started watching boxing Sean O'Grady saying "well those cards seemed a lil wide, but at least the right guy won" seemingly every couple weeks about a fight. This sorta stuff is a long standing problem that no one really wants to eff with cuz of the potential implications it could have on the sport & probably cuz the answer is highly debatable & going to be hard to enforce on a broad enough scale for it to be meaningful. For sure this is a problem doe & eventually someone will uncover the base of the problem & fix it its just a matter of when

If canelo/floyd were to have a rematch, canelo would definitely get the decision
