    Comments Thread For: Canelo Finishes Up Camp With 172-Rounds of Sparring

    The last day of sparring was finished up in San Diego, California. Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is ready for the anticipated fight against Miguel Cotto on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Las Vegas. A total of 172 rounds were completed in a training camp, according to manager/co-trainer Jose "Chepo" Reynoso.

        I second that. Is that normal to get that many rounds in a championship fight?? No excuse if he loses that he was fatigued and tired.

            They were probably just working on technique for most of those rounds. Canelo's trainers have to go over things repeatedly with Canelo.

            His trainers are always smacking him on the head with the mitts as if to say "GODDAMMIT WE WENT OVER THIS ALREADY!"

              Why the hell would he stop sparring? That's like the best thing to do when you leading to a fight because no amount of fatigue compares when you're sparring

                  wow...that's alot of rounds but they had a long training camp....usually is 120-130 rounds!!! Hopefully, they did it in a smart way!!! Damn, it seems both fighters will be at beast mode....can't wait!!!!

                    Let's see when he gasses, or fights half rounds, in the fight.
