Comments Thread For: Hearn: Golovkin Might Get Froch Back, Not DeGale

Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch, who retired earlier this year, could be tempted to come out of retirement for a fight with IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), according to Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

The fight was being negotiated a few months ago. Before a deal could get reached, Froch announced his retirement.

Hearn seems to really want the GGG fight. he is talking about it a lot. He must reckon it is the bigger money spinner. Froch seems to be more interested in Degale though and talks about him more than GGG.

Until some one shuts him up he won't shut up , he has a huge ego and commentating for sky won't fill that void at the mo.
If Degale looks anything other than spectacular fighting Bute then I see Carl fighting Golovkin at Wembley in the summer, if not I wish Carl would just keep quite.

... Actually, doesn't Hearn sound like somehow calling GGG to fight Froch at 175?

There is no doubt in my mind that Hearn and Froch are talking ****e.No way does GGG move up to 175,Sanchez has made that very clear. If Froch does fight again and that's a big "IF",i reckon it'll be against Kovalev,Stevenson type opponent.

No way does he fight GGG.

I don't know what the talk of 175 is. .. 168 fighter agrees to fight 160 fighter ... but only at 175 lol. Hopefully we'll get some serious talk from Hearn soon.

              Kovalev/Stevenson type opponent?

They would both be tougher fights than GGG.

You posted as if Stevenson and/or Kovalev would be some kind of soft option.

I don't see Froch coming back at 175. I think it's still another 6 months at least before he might come back so plenty of time to get down to 168 if he's serious about it.
